I scratch-built one years ago and painted it a light 'Dove Grey', which I was never happy with. Needed to be more silvery I recon.

Hi Dave
Great looking model

Looking at the ref photo's I have
Of the MSV
I even think there might be a slight
Blue tint in with the silver and grey

I think I'll do some test samples
And take my best shot at a colour
That looks right

Cheers
Pete

Hi Guys
Purchased a couple of spray
Cans today , the paint was mixed
In the shop .

One can is more of a blue tint the other
A light grey with a hint of silver,

I've had a test spray on the model of both colours
And the grey wins hands down
In fact I think I've hit the nail on the head with the colour
It looks bang on , so the whole model has had a guide coat of this now
And now working with fine putty

Photos soon

Here you go guys

This is the colour ive chosen for the MSV , at present it's had two coats rubbing down in between, because of the models size , and colour i.m looking to get a really good finish ,and then a slight weathering down afterwards .

The chrome detail will be chrome tape , and some spray work along with picking out the detail area's that are grilled etc with a darker grey should make the model look like more like the original .

The original model does't seem to have any markings ,only the spectrum logo , and the red and black tape and chrome detail , on my version i will add some little signs , ie [open here] just to help with scale .

More soon
Best
Pete

Just one thing Pete, the black lines should be thinner at the front (just past the front wheel arch).

Hi guys
Thanks for all the great comments .

Here's a few photo's ive taken this morning , as you can see the red rear fender stripes have now been sprayed on, and ive just remasked to alter the black stripe to make it a little thinner oops around the front section of the wheel arch , but then ive just run out of paint oh well, that will be tomorows job .

Side door decals applied , really make the model stand out now .

Cheers Dan

Wow you can't get any better comments than that .

Here's the model with all its decals now applied , the head light glass will have chrome tape around the edges , the indicator detail i expect will just be painted chrome .

Next job is to fit the little antennas on the roof behind the windows , also shark fin ariel.

Then what do you think a little weathering ? or leave it clean .

The front section of the interior then will be the last main job before fitting R/c gear

Hi Guys

There's light at the end tunnel , Just the hub caps to sort out and thats the exterior finished , i decided to give the MSV a very light weathering finish mostly around the small intakes located infront of the window area's , still need to draw on the front wheel arch detail and spray the underside arches black .

I'll be taking some photo's of the Spectrum Three soon .

best
