Default The Secret Service 'Bufflers Halt' Train

Hi, here's something I've been working on for a while.

It's a pretty obscure Anderson subject, a Triang 'Big Big Train' which was used in the Secret Service episode 'Last Train to Bufflers Halt'. It's a fairly accurate representation of a real Class 35 Hymek and needed minimal alterations to the body. I've had to alter the bogies, add windows and interiors to the cabs and also used a pack of metal detailing parts - probably added more than they did on the episode but as it's for display I thought it was worth the hassle. Decals and livery differ in position to a real Hymek so I've referred to the episode as far as possible. They left the toy's original number on it for filming so I followed suit.

Nothing too complicated in the conversion overall, and good fun to weather. Just need to finish the weathering on the roof and paint the rails

Very good weathering. What size is the Triang 'Big Big Train'?

Thanks everyone, first time I'd weathered anything to that degree but it helped to look at photos of the real thing & mimic the pattern of the weathering.
The train is 'O' gauge and is around 14" long (some of the metal parts are still tiny!).

This was my favourite toy as a kid, you've made an excellent job with turning a toy into a model.
