Default FAB 1 - in Solid Silver!

I thought you chaps may appreciate this, so I thought I'd post it here before I sell it.

In 1982 I attended Fanderson 82 and won the raffle ticket prize, which turned out to be a solid sterling silver FAB 1 made by Somerville Models.

There were only two of these made, and Gerry put one up for the raffle. He said his plans were to release a limited edition of them, but they proved too expensive, so in the end he issued a pewter FAB 1 series instead.

After Fanderson I went to the studios in 1982 and Gerry presented me with this. If you go to my profile page you'll see a photo of that.

What do you think?

It's slightly smaller than the Dinky - 12cm from bumper to bumper as opposed to 14.5cm for the Dinky.

Here's another shot.

Default Learning something new every day....

Never knew such a thing existed - amazing the things that turn up on the Forum. Hope it generates a lot of interest when the time comes for you to sell it.

Kindest regards

Pat

My friend has just won a Somerville FAB 1 on eBay (March 2016) but we know nothing about it. We do not think it is sterling silver so may be the prototype casting for the two silver ones that were made. Any information would be appreciated
