Very sad news, a very talented lady far ahead of her time in the TV and film world.
Thank you for creating a very special part of my childhood.
Condolences to the family.
Rest in Peace Sylvia.

Very very sad, the end of an era.
I remember seeing my first Anderson show at the begining of the sixties and was instantly hooked forever. Without doubt Sylvia and Derek Meddings made an outstanding contribution to all the shows and I believe without their input the shows might have just disappeared into the ether. Of course Gerry was the one who brought all this talent together but I personally think it was Sylvia who had that extra touch.
I shall miss them all and the likes will never be seen again.
Thank god I was growing up in the sixties which gave me a chance to see these amazing programmes.

Sad day indeed although she lived to a good age. I don't think she has ever been given enough credit or recognition for the input she had into the shows. R.I.P.

Agree.

R.I.P. Sylvia

Space:1999 season one was brilliant because Sylvia was with Gerry.

I also agree. I've said this before, it's so hard to see people you grew up with pass on.

So sad News

Not only the voice of Lady Penelope
but also the brains of AP Films as producer and writer.
She work on character development and costume design for the Series.
after APF years she became well respected women in British TV scene.

because she made her Job magnificent well.

Yes I agree. It is no co-incidence that the best Anderson shows were made when Her and Gerry were co-creators.

It would be a tribute to them both if Thunderbirds 1965 resulted in a new series made in the classic mould, even though I think their zenith (with all due reverence) was their first live action series. The original and brilliant UFO!

Sad to see this.

Are the TB1965 DVDs going to be sold to the public?

No, don't believe so generally. Some extra were offered to the general public on a first come first served basis about a month ago, but don't know if that is still available.
