Default Liberator gun holster query - what makes the noise?

Hi chaps,

I have one of Alex Jackson's excellent Liberator gun/holster/power pack replicas, but it doesn't make the distinctive noise that the originals do when drawn from or replaced in the holster. Presumably there's something inside the original holsters rubbing against the gun to create that sound - can anyone confirm what exactly it is?

Cheers!

Could they have added the noise in post production?

No, it's definitely the practical noise of the gun being pulled from or replaced in the holster. Something inside is rubbing against the ribbed perspex "collar" section.

My initial thought was that the inside of the holster was moulded with a ribbed section to complement the ribs on the gun, but someone on FB told me that it's less complicated than that and there's simply some kind of "lip" inside the holster.

Mine is made from ema parts and it does make the noise when you put the gun in. There is nothing fancy in the holster interior.

If you use the correct tube and ema parts it is the noise they make when removed, mine all make the correct sound.

I think Alex's (whilst brilliant!) use resin parts he has cast rather than EMA parts on every gun. This could be why.
