Default Sad, sad year. Question on Chris's UFO book

Boy, I'll tell you. 2016 is not one of my favorite years with what has happened so far. Still in shock over the passing of Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher.

I have a question to those in the know: will there be a reprint of Chris's updated and revised edition of "The Complete Book of Gerry Anderson's UFO"? I did a preorder on Amazon in the US in July and it was cancelled due to unavailability. Also did a preorder through Amazon UK, that has not been cancelled...yet.

Any info would be appreciated as I was planning to give a copy as a gift.

It's out now!

A really nice book.
A couple of niggly errors - one of the 'Ooops! sections is reused 3 times when it shouldn't be.

Default Nice book, not so nice delivery

Hello! I finally got my copy in the mail today. From what I was able to see, it was worth the money and wait When I say, "from what I was able to see" is that the book is sitting in a dryer. The book made it out from Amazon UK just fine, its only when it reached the USA the problems started. Apparently, the book/package was dropped in water en route and it was pretty much ruined. To my horror, the book was a soggy mess when it was unwrapped. This was the second time a package from Europe was badly damaged by the US postal service. Contacted Amazon UK and they stated they will notify me when the book is available again.

Advice to anyone out there in Southern California getting any packages abroad....make sure its packed real good to avoid such a tragedy. (and yes, I did file a formal complaint at the post office).

Here's hoping the book gets another printing!
Jon

I have ordered several books from this site, and all have arrived intact and in good order; so can recommend them...

Default Follow-up...

Just saw your PM. Thank You. Yes, their books do indeed come very-well-packed - my UFO copy arrived just this past Monday, in fact!

(I can also recommend their customer service, which is excellent! )

Re the rain (and all that WIND!!): perhaps your mailman might opt to leave a "Notice of Intent To Deliver Mail" in your box, especially if you're not home when he/she comes by w/pkg. If it were my guy here, that's what I'd want him to do; and you've had one negative experience already. One too many. Better safe, than soggy! Let me know what happens...

(And, if you have to be out in these awful conditions - be safe!!)

Thank you for answering so quickly. If they pack it that well then it could take some rain. I wish I could pick it up at the post office, but they won't do it unless they are given 30 days notice beforehand. Crossing my fingers!
