Unfortunately, it doesn't. Brian would be under contract which would state that anything he designed while in the employ of MGM is their copyright. That's standard for all employees otherwise anyone working in a design capacity could claim copyright on their slice of the production which would obviously be unacceptable. It's more likely that no one at MGM spotted a connection that was worth pursuing.

True, I hadn't thought of that. At least it was his design that he copied even if he did it for someone else first, rather than someone else lifting it from him.

Just noticed that Hamilton recently issued the “X-01”, a limited edition reinterpretation of David Bowman’s watch (see pics below).

Original prop watch:

Hamilton X-01:

The watch is simply beautiful and although Hamilton decided to slightly update the design, it’s still a nice tribute to the original.
Those interested on acquiring one may use different sites such as this one:

...or eBay, among other websites. Nicely priced between 1000 and US$1500.

Malheureusement Parker never made available for the general public the reinterpretation of its famous Atomic Pen…pitty….

…such fascinating film in so many levels…

Default Clavius astronauts

Scott at Atomic city has announced that he will produce in 1/12 scale the three lunar astronauts with equipment and some kind of base to replicate the classic 2001 shot and McCall painting.

This will coincide with his re-release of his 1/12 Dave Bowman figure.
