Default 1 x Happy Camper

My PE 12" Lab Eagle arrived today and I am one happy eaglefan Quality is a lot better than I expected and she has survived the 12000 odd mile journey well.

My first impressions, well the packaging is a bit errmm not sure how to put it but did keep her safe so I suppose I shouldn't complain
Otherwise a great model and once the xporter is back in stock I'll be grabbing one of those as well.

Thinking about it yes. Actually doing it - I don't know. After the freight and nasty customs charges the unit would cost about $1300 NZ...

Not sure if I can justify it.

still, you never know

You?

I am, I know its accuracy isn't the best, but a 23" model...

And compared to the cost of getting one made or making one it's a steal.

Well, good on you. Let me know the damage once it arrives. That may help my thinking....

I just got a great replica Commlock & Stun Gun from a prop maker in the US. As well as Eagles, I am keen on props too.

Have you ever got any blueprints from Kennedy Shipyards?

cheers

Lindsay

Damage will be about 1200 - 1600 dependant on exchange rates etc

I haven't bought anything from Kennedy Shipyards but then as I dont have a credit card off-shore purchases are a no go for me anyways.

I've modelled a Commlock in 3ds max, I'm thinking about taking it to one of those 3d printers then I'd have a very 1-off prop

Holy crap....

I looked at those 3d printers, (i'm a graphic designer) they sure are cool!

I always wanted to have a stun gun & commlock machined out of aluminium to a high standard. May get around to it one day...

I too work with graphic design as part of my job for the municipality. Mostly different pamphlets and some logos, maps and information boards.

Updated to CorelDraw X3 only a week ago, and have already used it to make blueprints and decals for nuclear waste canisters. Mostly at lunch breaks, and then some... but don't tell my boss

And a Corel user too - welcome, brethren! There are some issues with X3 which hopefully Corel are fixing as we speak.

Way OT - but, I use the Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign/Illustrator/Photoshop) - recently upgraded to CS2 and some of the new features in Illustrator (live trace for example) have already come in handy for patches, decals, and so on (you've got to practice with these thing y'know)

EagleFan - are you planning to "accurise" your Eagle?
