"Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence." is an incomplete statement. As CR correctly states, 'absence of evidence' is also 'not evidence of any thing'.

It is not evidence - period. What is it? Nothing. A big, fat zero - zilch - nada.

So what does the full statement tell man? That absence of evidence for his ideas leaves his idea connected to absolutely nothing. They are completely divorced from reality. They are simply and literally a figment of his imagination - nothing more.

I was reading a bit of news on my browser home page yesterday about some Police offices in Wales who supposedly spotted a ufo, they said it was being investigated, who 'they' are is anybodies guess though, probably come to nothing. Heh the investigators are more than likely aliens in disguise hiding the truth.

As much as I like to keep an open mind regarding UFOs. These are the sort of images that come to mind for me.

Still and all I do TRY to keep an open mind.

It was shown that that particular UFO was a light fitting over a public phone somewhere like an airport, I forget where. The globey bits underneath were the light bulbs.

There's another one similar to that, which was shown to be a cover for a water heater. Sorry I don't have any links.

The images are representations of the 'Adamski' style saucer. Bell shaped affairs sporting the ever popular 'gravity drive spheres.' George Adamski's outrageous claims jump started the contactee movement which swept America in the 50's. One book that I read when I was much younger stated the Adamksi's saucer photos were made using a 'chicken brooder.' Fun stuff all in all.
