You know, for all the times I've seen that Rag-tag Fleet spaceship (including that very photo), I never made the Eagle connection! It seems so obvious, now!
(I like the various ships of the fleet, and interesting that several of them made the 'migration' to the new BSG series.)

Woah - I can't wait for release. Probably be about another 12 months for us in Oz.

I must admit I am still not convinced about the 'new' Cylons hearing that 60s earth tune

Just out of interest for those people who like their sci-fi hard and technical the very good news is Mr Moore of BSG fame has been contracted to write and produce three sci-fi films of that particular nature. I have very great hopes for this!!! A trilogy!!! BSG kind of effects influenced !!! On a very large screen!!! Thank Cobal!!!

No, the studio (United Artists) are keeping the details under wraps. But it is a definitely a sci-fi trilogy and R.Moore is well known for his BSG and Startrek writing so this bodes very well for an 'original' series. Startrek is being revamped (reimagined) so hopefully Mr Moore will reimage in a vein similar to something else beginning with S but perhaps without Ewoks. Of course it won't be the same or Lucas will sue him to death. I have always wanted a sci-fi series with a sort of military / colonist theme, think 'Aliens' but with different beasties on different planets. Lots of hardware, spaceships and cool weapons verses wierd creatures and environments. Not as daft as Starship troopers though.Heres hoping that Mr Moore can pull a rabbit out of the hat.

There is the potential there for something awesome, but movies are traditionally made for consumers rather than fans. Lets hope this trilogy lives up to the potential! Can't wait

I know how the series will end. No do not ask my sources....
Remember that comment from the first year, "all this has happened before, and will happen again..."?
Galatica, after many awful and long grueling battles, at last arrives in Earth orbit. All is calm and Cylon free, until another ship pulls out from behind the moon..it is Battlestar sized and hails the Galactica. Low and behold it is the original BSG, commanded by Commander Boomer (who is a man and most decidedly not a Cylon agent!)
A battle ensues, and in the end, the original ship and crew obliterate the new and any lingering Cylons, thus satisfying fans of both series as the new BSG fans would not want a happy ending and the old BSG fans would.
Shhhh...Don't tell anybody...
