Default resin reworked

personally this job was more hard work than it was worth, and i post this pic only to show that it can be done, i guess its better than the original
im sure i wasnt the only person to open that little box and freak out at the contents.

i only kept the nose, engines landing gear and pod rebuilding the rest from scratch
the tiny skeleton looked very cute when assembled but i dont have any digitised pics of construction, i may be able to scan some old photos of the build later

Is that the Teru-Yamada? If so, that's great cage work!

Yes thats the one, one look at the existing cage/spine assembly as it came out of the box was enough to tell me it would need a complete rework.
long hours with tweezers and jewelers files were the only hope of saving it.
i started with a pair of styrene box's and built the cage and spine around them, glueing the cone to one end and the engine assemblyy to the other
this allowed me to put some relief detail behind the cages.
this is over ten years old, i think i would do a better job these days
