Default My first two Eagles have just landed.....

Just fresh from the box: my first two "babies"

That's "routine" for many people here, but do you remember the felling when you did open it for the first time

The question now is:How long it will cake, before an attempt to dismantle the beast, for some improvements here and there, painting + some aluminium bells maybe......

Now, Eaglenut can really make sense.....

Great obscure reference, doon! (Love the Tarna segment in that film, btw!)

I'm finally starting to get the rest of the PE12's after only having the Transporter & Rescue ones for so long. (And I didn't even get them right away, either!) Still don't have a gift set yet.

About this long. [/quote]

Well, do you really want to see what can be an Eagle butchery......

One question: did someone tried to open the command module "windows" areas, to remake them with clear material ?

Metal is not an easy medium to work with...but it would improve the look largely .

I've got 2 gift sets, 1 transporter, 1 freighter and 1 lab pod on layby right now - I hate it but love it as I still have to wait. I'm going to sell my lab pod now though as I'll have it in the gift set. I'm also considering selling the transporter as I really wanted the medical/rescue version - either that or I'm going to have to have to paint the stripes on the transporter.

Well, I have one of the Rescue pod eagels, and as many people have commented the red stripes are a bit too narrow.

So eventually I'm going to have to repaint the damn thing. If you are bothered by the thing stripes I would keep the one you have and repaint it.... it's a lot easier to start with white and then prime it, then to try to prime over red/white/red/white .

I was like a kid on Christmas morning when I got my first PE 12" diecast Eagle. As a kid, I tore up my hands trying to modify the MPC kit to look like the studio models used in the show!

Interesting talking about the Medical pod Eagle. That was the first one I bought, and only just recently I decided to paint it as a standard pod. Standard Transporters are no where to be seen in Adelaide now, and the red lines weren't right any way. Ironically, today I lay-byed my 4th and probably last eagle, which is none other than the medical pod. I couldn't get the vip version, and I can live with that. Sadly I will have to deal with the red stripes in any case. Still at least I get to do up another Eagle

I agree with the point about lay-by. I'm hopeless and usually go back the next day and pay it off. Not this time. I have a month to pay, and I am getting a discount of $9. That brings it down to $100. The other day I paid $113 at another shop for the Freighter, and now its $120. Its a joke really.

Who North America sells them for $59.95, with shipping to the US at around $8.00. Their site says they will contact you for international shipping rates. Might be worth a look.
