Last Call for decal text!!

I'm going to get my decals made this week. If I can't get the verbiage, I'll make up some stuff.

I still need # 1,3,4,6,8. Does #2 say BC or 8C?

thanks

Twist my arm, I'd guess that it's Kevin Pedley's. According to Mark42, Kevin made his wheels and tracks from scratch (!), and you can see that the rear wheel on this one only has ribs on the outer half, unlike the actual toy wheels.

On my Mobile, I put 'BC' and in the square at the front (which also comes from the Superfortress) is the letter 'H'.

To be honest, on the Die Cast models it wouldn't really matter what the other text said as you probably wouldn't make it out in that scale anyway

Even on the studio scale models you can't make out what the text says. I used any old small white decals and they look fine.

Thanks! I wanted to get everything correct just in case anyone needed the larger decals in the future. The "H" helps out!

thanks

Hey! I am here, back from vacation.

I am drawing new stuff, lots of it, for future releases. The SHADO mobiles are coming soon. If anyone can help, that would be great! I am hoping to make a sheet that all of you will be sure of, cuz all of you will have contributed to it.

For those of you that can help with photos, measurements, art, etc, I can send a sample of the decals when completed. Some of you have already helped; I have not forgotten you, but please contact me again now that I am close to completion.

Decal #6 says:
U.S. ARMY
ORDNANCE
I was told it came from the UPC Honest John kit.

Anyway, sorry for all the delays, but now I am eager to get this project done. Thanks!

Jimbo

I've got all the wheels off and am cleaning up the hull and back plate area.
I was thinking of adding some details to the hull to make it more like a real tank. It's to flat and there should be some idler arms or something.

I got most of the LED's and the fiber optics but need to figure out how I want to do them. They will blink though.

I started thinking about cleaning my new Shado Control Mobile and tried Acetone, so of which I happen to have. Wonderful stuff. Wipes the brown nonsense straight off. It will also remove the white quite happily so a set of decals is needed to do the perfect job, but with a few touch ups with the white (suitably weathered) and the mobiles look great. No major matching of base colours needs unless you wish, but as I said, a set of decals would make the job even easier.... not to be used on plastic.... so I haven't played with the wheels.

That would be great. I'd clean the decals off as well and start afresh. I can't believe the difference getting all the mud off makes, I've gone back and done so more cleaning up on the Shado one as well... I said that before... I'm getting old. The lining on your work room sounds great.

Some photos. The first is the almost finished modifications to the Shado Control clone brothers. I thought it would be fun to have a blue uniform to contrast the fawn. The black haired guy is holding an unfinished pair of binoculars.

These other two show the clean Control Mobile (no the dish isn't attached) and the re-cleaned Shado 1. It would be great to remove the white decals and start again. (In the pipeline) The Acetone will do this with no difficulties. As they say on Ebay the photos don't do these things justice. So much better without all the mud. A very nice job by PE under all that brown.

Great work Tony42, I think the wheels look good as they are. Makes the Shado mobile all the more desirable.

For that casual look, may I suggest the addition of some fuzzy dice hanging in the windscreen

Well, Shado 2 has arrived and the mud is all off. Again it looks so good without all the brown. The Acetone is so easy to use and I didn't have so much trouble with the decals this time. As we've said on another thread hopefully JBOT will be able to put a set together and then the Acetone can clean the lot off it can all be done even more easily.

This time one of the clone brothers has a gun. I have discovered that the easiest way to change the shape of the figures is to cut and super glue them in quick succession. Because they're made of soft material they're very easy to modify. A head cut off and glued on at a different angle here, a hand cut off and turned up the other way there, and a v cut at the elbow to bend the arm, and clone Bob's your uncle.... a very sore uncle, but your uncle none the less. One ends up feeling a little like Dr Frankenstein I'll post some pictures of the three on patrol when I can.

Damn you all! First it was Eagles , now I've got to hunt down SHADO Mobiles as well ! Seriously though , I wasn't that impressed by the Mobiles when I saw them in shops , ( strangely , it was the wheels that put me off , not the weathering , they looked too toy-like ) , but seeing you guys tweak the model has made me much more enthusiastic and seeing as I'm having no luck on the Interceptor front , I intend to turn my attention to these ! I hope you're all satisfied !!:
