Default 44 inch eagle parts?

Forgive me if I have been misinformed, but I have heard that Rogue Studios has dropped, given up or lost the license to produce the 44 inch Eagle. I think there is some speculation that Sixteen 12(?) has it? We've all heard that Round 2 was interested in producing one until they found out there was a current license holder.
I know there were threads here about Garage Kit makers distributing making 44 inch Eagle parts a couple of years back, but since nobody wanted to go against a registered license holder, I would assume that their projects would have just been for themselves.
Is there still interest in making these large Studio Scale parts, or has this become a waning interest, given that fans of the show are getting older or perhaps there is no interest in making a model that takes up a lot of real estate.
I'm not looking to poke any license holders in the eye....I'm just curious.

I don't know about a full kit but you can certainky source the various parts from the web, with the exception being the cages perhaps.

True, some of the parts are available, but they are becoming harder and harder to find. For instance, aluminum parts and pieces of the engine assembly seem to not exist anymore. The store attached to this site used to have a few accessories, but those disappeared. eBay finds have also been scarce. Several internet searches have yielded little, except for historical information.

I suppose coming late to the 'party' has its drawbacks.

Any aluminium parts you require then contact Mike Reader. He can manufacture any of the metal parts you may need for a 44.

Taz,
Seriously, lets talk and work things out between us. I make a few bits (generally no GK maker) but a I am sure we can all bring something to the party. I am a maker - in that I like to have a go; rather than buy parts, I like to see if I can do it. If you fancy resin bells - I have the full set, let me know. I am next attempting them in Ali but Mike's look perfect. (The lathe cost me more than Mike's bells and I have nothing else to make with it!).
I have mould tools for all of the kit parts - don't go buying expensive kits!

I thought that he retired from the hobby. I think I still have his email still for when I picked up an X-Wing wing armature. I have aluminum bells and thrusters, which I think originally come from Mike, but they were purchased off of another forum.

You've offered your assistance to me before Julian, and I do intend to take you up on your offer in the future. I just want to challenge myself in building something in Studio Scale and improve myself as a builder. For providing parts to the Eagle community, I would be good with that as well, as long as we don't step on anybody's toes and infringe on someone's license. I just remember several years ago on this site, where there were dozens of people here making different parts for the 44 incher. I don't recall a resin cage ever being offered, other than the one James Small did many years ago. There has been less activity on this forum lately. Perhaps with less people having the time to build or leaving the hobby it's something that has to be expected. Hopefully our builds (and others on this site whether it be Eagles or anything else created by fans here) will encourage fans to start out builds on their own and keep this forum and hobby alive.

I agree with Slate Mcleod that you can still source parts, but there definitely isn't as much available as there used to be!
I've actually produced quite a lot of Eagle 1 44'' leg pods in the past and I’m still happy to make more if anyone’s interested. http://s863.photobucket.com/user/Nar...?sort=3&page=1
Regarding your concerns about licensing, I don't think any of the component suppliers has anything to worry about as the number of items sold is minimal and nobody is offering a full kit.

Very nice Pro Mod!

I did contact Mike Reader. He has retired from his day job, but not from making stuff for hobbyists. There is a waiting list though. Thanks Slate Mcleod.

Julian, I think I know who which artist would provide a "theme" song for this new 1999 party. :lol....Darn... I guess we're a little late. Correction...He's a little late.

How did you end up with 6 of those? Are you casting them?

I might be willing to trade, I have resin bells, some metal passenger pod feet and might have some parts for the main feet spare. I also have soldering jigs spare.
I really want to scratch the lot - it is time consuming and I would like to finish it!!

I see your eBay listing Phil. How is the accuracy, did you use the plans by Prud'homme / Trice to make the master?
