Default Spindrift

Having watched the recent reruns of Land of the Giants, I fancied a model of the ship (a better vehicle than the show is!). I bought the Polar Lights kit and built it as is, except for adding some internal lighting.

Great pics, but doesn't half show what an ugly design the ship was!

Thanks people. I like the design of the ship (mind you, you may be right about it being ugly!)

Looking good Kevin.
Although I watched most of the Allen tv series they were not my favourite programmes but I always loved the hardware.
All the ships and their interiors were much better than the programmes they appeared in.
My favourite Allen ship is of course the Jupiter 2.

Thanks. Yes, I agree, the ships were better than the shows. I have a large fibreglass flying sub hull that I want to make into a working r/c sub at some future date.

Awesome Flying Sub. I always loved the FS and it's Seaview.

If anyone is interested Paul Allen's original Spindrift miniature is currently on display at the Barbican in London as one of the exhibits in their "Into the unknown" exhibition.

I want to go along to that - it lasts until 1st September, so need to get a move on!

I used to live just round the corner from the Barbican Centre but since I moved out of the 'smoke' into the glorious countryside of Berkshire, its a bit of a pain to get to
