I am sorry but most of the reference material I had belonged to Martin Bower. The photos I took for details were given away years ago as I had the drawing and didn't need the photos. I never planned to biuld a model only record Martin Bowers work. I have scoured my workshop but the negatives have also gone, probably in the house moves I have made.
Regards

Info Altares model on offer soon interest please....

Hi Guys,

There is news of a re-issue of the 10.5" (est) model of the Altares from Duey. He is sending ten of these kits and a sales thread will be started when they are in transit.

The kit will be made from a fresh set of tools especially for this re-launch. The price is expected to be 32.50 plus postage

I want to know who would like to be placed on the reserve list?

You can see one of these kits made from the old tools on this thread (nice job Transporter )

Default Merging threads....

This would seem to be a good point to merge two threads talking about the same subject

Default Kit images from Transporter's build....

Here are some of Transporters Images....

Layout of parts

I started with cleaning all the parts, washing them and spraying them with FDW and after masking with a blue metalic. The kit was missing the nozzles of the CM, so I built them with some jewellery drop pearls. You will see this in the next part of my Altares build up info.

First subassemblies, prepared to be detailed. The blue looks a bit too bright, but this will change when all gets its final matt varnish coat.

Hope to show more soon.

Thumbs up More Images....

And a few more images of the finished model, I think it looks great

I know Duey is making new moulds for this and can't wait to take a crack at it myself as this is one of my favourite subjects.

So, who would like one, express your interest so we can offer Duey some encouragement (not that he really needs any)

Depending on price I'd be interested, as my old one is missing parts anyway and I'm sure the casting will be a lot better.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Bernie.

Yes - please put me down for one. I presume you'll post when they arrive and you want the money

Thumbs up Stock of kits....

Hi Keith
I won't ask for any payment until we have stock in hand and ready to post, won't be long now. Looks to me like he's made a cracking job of retooling this kit.

I will be stocking more of this range and prompting Duey to add new subjects.

Just checking, did these ever make it into the store, or is there any more availability of this kit? I'd be interested in one!

Hi Barnstormer3000,

Welcome to the forum.

I had to withdraw this kit as Martin objected to it's release enforcing his copyright. After a debate back and forth and an application to license went unanswered I decided not to pursue it. I only had 10 kits and it seemed a bit petty but that is the situation.

I do have a blueprint to publish shortly and there have been a few photos of the studio models taken by Andy Hopkinson published here:

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...d.php?t=142770

I will be revisiting this model and looking at it's construction in detail in the future. I plan to offer a build along feature listing all the parts I can identify to recreate the smaller model.

Captain, I assume you are referring to the small, 3 foot long, Altares studio model, right?

Has anyone assembled a parts list for the larger studio model?
