She is capable of traveling at tens of thousands of times the speed of light, by generating a field that reduces her relativistic mass increase. What makes her ahead of her contemporaries is that her flexible shape allows fine tuning of the field that enables her to turn at high speed and travel through space that is heavily distorted by gravity and radiation. She is controlled by direct sensory input from her pilot and carries no weapons.

Default Oh, but that's good!

KevinD, what amazes me is how quickly you've put all this together - and the paintwork, lettering and detailing - it all looks so good. You've done a great job on an unusual choice of subject. Well done on really bringing The Hooded Swan to life.

Kindest regards

Patrick

Reminds me of the Phoenix from Battle of the Planets (aka. Gatchaman/G-Force) and especially in that paint scheme.

Here's a link to the opening credits:

That's a really odd/cool ship. Never heard of it before this thread. Nice to see it finished. May I ask- what's the curved 'heatsink' type of affair on the upper rear part?

Thanks . The rear part is made from scratch out of plasticard and aluminum (for the curved back of it). The details were random kit parts. The bit at the very back being tank tracks. Don't know what function it served on the ship though.

Fantastic job!!

The first of your photos reminds me of the picture of the Swan that was used for the Vangelis album cover.

Thanks. I am tempted to try doing photographic versions of the covers using this model.

Another great build and finish looks superb in its setting
(no hints but a model of the G Force Phoenix would be great to see)

Kev, it's a shame we don't live closer to each other - we could film it.

Done some more pictures, not quite copies of the covers, but sort of in the style of.

With his usual skill, Grainger sets the Hooded Swan down in an idyllic location which will doubtless reveal hidden dangers.
