Wow that looks promising. Maybe an idea to keep us up to date on Facebook?

Thanks. Sorry, I don't do the social media thing.
Better to just keep an eye on the thread.

I've been busy with other "real life" projects so it's been a while but here's a new Work in Progress. Like the others, it's proving to be harder than I imagined and has taken me a week or more just to get accurate plans based on screen shots, but this is the story so far, very rough, but I think pretty authentic, (the undercarriage is just for show)

Default Flashy!

Looking good, so far!

Re possible info sources: perhaps one or more of the following might prove helpful?

http://thunderbirds.wikia.com/wiki/Fireflash

http://thunderbirds.wikia.com/wiki/C...flash_Aircraft

Also (if you have it): the Haynes Manual/50th Anniversary Edition; nice 2-pg spread, pp 136-7...

Hey, thanks.
I have all the grabs I need from my HD videos thanks, and much that I love Graham Bleathman's drawings, they are not particularly accurate, as I discovered with his Elevator Car. There were also some plans floating around of a full scale model, but again, these do not hold up compared to the screenshots.

I managed to get a good top and side view and then fudged a front view based on them and a rather awful 3D model I found online. I've concluded that again they used multiple scales, a big one for the airport shots, a smaller one for flying, a wing section and a tail section, which also ended up being used in "Operation Crash Dive" completely wrong as the engine pods are on the wrong way round.

Starting to take shape. The wings turned out better than expected, but still not happy with the fuselage geometry. The tail needs a bit more work too, and then I can get on with the detailing.

Default Glassy!

Looks pretty awesome already - it almost seems to have been fashioned from glass, so flawless a finish!

That's the render engine. Unfortunately it's no good for animation work, but great for "product" shots. The fuselage around the front stabilisers is rather crummy if you look close, so I plan to try it again.
