I need help identifying the the deck 'stuff', the pole in the middle, and the rotary thing 307 is written on. I do believe that the lump that wraps around the pole at the botton is railway bridge aswell. Please confirm for me...I am not very good at this

I see. I will try to get some more pics up soon guys! I know what you mean about the 'sticky-up-thing' (lol); and to be honest I agree. But the pins for the tire are pointing outwards, interesting chopping ahead!

I have started to buy the neccessary bridge and crane kits. One exam left on Tuesday, meaning a day of rest with the gf on Wednesday, and Thursday is D-Day!!! Break out the kits, glues, paints and cheap paper printouts .

Any idea what the whole thing is floating on? And, would i be able to build it in sections so I can store it easily?

On the first youtube video on theis thread (part 5) can someone please get me a screengrab of 0:37 seconds? There is a good view of the deck, i can see the cabin from the dockside crane and what appears to be an aeroplane engine (red) on the right.

I think that it may be floating on a boat with the top half sawn off. Then Derek Meddings and/or Mike Trim, who we to, attached the railway bridge parts to it. What I'm confused about though, is that cab section when we see all three cranes.

Ah well, guess you'll have to find out.

Cheers George, decent of you. Im convinced its an engine nacelle. Possibly from the same kit as the undercarriage leg. Which cab bit did you mean George?

That roof thing near the red engine looks like the roof to a hornby brake van

It looks...promising
Oh hell. If it is I have to start hacking bits of train around. Good news is i can get one in my shop so I get a reduction
Also looks like theres a lot of wire to bend into rails and lots of rigging! fun! How many crew do you think this thing would have?

The roof looks like it's part of the Airfix dockside crane.

Given the other dockside crane parts used, AT is almost certainly right. The kit is still available from Dapol.

I'd say about 10. Maybe 15. I think Oshvision could be right however. Although I wouldn't really want to go hacking bits of train and brakevan around, but, your choice.

George

PS. I'm going to start work on the Fire Engine in two months! My DT teacher is going to help me but not until next term. Scholarship...

That most certainly looks like the roof part from the Airfix Dockside Crane. Same bit that's on the bottom of TB5's antenae.

As I quite honestly have no idea what I'm looking for as far as the different kits in the crane are concerned I have decided to temporarily shelve the project in favour of a new one.
I plan to build an Air-Sea-Rescua aircraft from Operation Crash Dive instead for now. I will make a new thread on this topic shortly. In the meantime please keep posting ideas for the cranes on this one.
Cheers
Chris

Well, as long as you don't give up on it... If there's one thing I've learnt in my whole life, it's that you should never, never give up...

Just my bit of advice.
