Wow, thank you for the info. It's great to hear that these items sometimes came from the most humble of places.

Loved the pyro charges on the Scorpio Clip guns, it must have been a great help to the actors to have something actually go off, rather than the light of the Liberator hand gun.

....and just to clarify, I hope it isn't rude to ask, but are you 'THE' Bill Pearson, ie: Alien, Red Dwarf, Flash Gordon, Space Precinct, Moon, Die Another Day, etc, etc.....???

Cheers,

Andy

It was great to see you at Fanderson, I really appreciated the invitation to meet you at the studios while Aurora was filming, sorry I couldn't make it then, perhaps I could rain check an interview for later?

Hi Bill,

Wow, that is awesome, and very good of you to drop by on the forum, what a great honour for all of us.

Looking forward to picking your brains.

Actually, I have a burning question straight away;

Did you make the landing gear for the Studio Scale Scorpio model on season 4 of Blake's 7?

I'm sure I have read somewhere that Ron Thornton delivered it without 'feet' and you supplied the landing gear.

Also, if you did make the feet, was the Nostromo landing gear an influence?

Thanks again for being part of this community.

Cheers,

Andy

Hi Bill,

Thank you for the reply, much appreciated.

Well that sorts out that misconception I've had for years!

Just had a look, what a fantastic portfolio, an amazing array of outstanding eye candy, thanks to you and (Neil?) for uploading and sharing it.

You may not have done the Scorpio landing gear but you did do the gun that killed Blake, I think that takes the prize!

How much creative freedon did you have when making the ships and props?

-Cheers,

Andy

Thank you for the reply Bill.

That must have been great fun, not having an art department or a power mad producer / director putting pressure on.

You worked on Prometheus! Wow,

I am so looking forward to seeing the movie, the trailers look absolutely amazing.

I'm a huge Alien/Aliens fan and I'm so glad Ridley has come back to the subject, not really fussed how much this film rocks the boat 'continuity' wise, I'm hoping for a great story and some 'blow ytou away' visuals!

It must have been amazing for you to have done 'Alien' and now to come back for 'Prometheus'.

Right, back to the Blake's 7 .................

Cheers,

Andy

I'd love to be able to get some templates of this beauty of a sidearm. It has multiple costume uses even outside the standard Blake's 7 outfits.

Ridley was here in the Us last weekend...from what he said I have a feeling there is no alien in this movie, it's going to be about the space jockey.

If it's the 'Horizon' technical manual, be aware that some of the plans are inaccurate, the size of the Scorpio gun is considerably out.
