Default Erm... Liberator up for sale... again !!!

Hi guys,

Phil (Exterminator) gave me the heads up on this !

Well looks like the same bloke is at it again, this time he wants a 100 grand !!!

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/blakes-7-l...#ht_177wt_1016

From the description it seems like he's still not had time to go to a night class on spelling and grammar, or maybe he had a few too many glasses of wine...

Well, look on the bright side, at least THIS time around he's not saying that Mat's Liberator is a fake, he's now saying it's some sort of lightweight version that was going to be blown up! Ummm ... no.

The front parts of the weapon pods might be original, but the rest of it almost certainly isn't, so as a REPLICA it's probably worth about 1% of what he's asking.

Can anyone explain what he's talking about - 'Set to go on telly four rooms April'

As a Liberator replica it is pretty good, and with some original parts in it has to be worth 5k. But as stated asking 100k is beyond a joke - and who in their right mind would buy from a seller called 'lovehit', with only 90% feedback, using terrible photos, and who can't spell..... it wouldn't inspire confidence if the item was the real deal.

Presumably if it doesn't sell, he will try to sell it on the Channel 4 show, 'Four Rooms', in which people attempt to get the best deal they can selling odd objects to 1 of. 4 art dealers.

It would be like walking into an estate agents, pointing at a photo of a house and saying "I'll have that one"! There would need to be some serious checking out done before anyone decided to part with that much.

Yes, as a REPLICA it is good ... but that's all it is, really.

Problem is he has a signed certificate of authenticity from Martin and its not him who valued it at 100,000 but an auction house. He's just taking a punt on E:bay. Some fool with more money than sense will buy this eventually at an over inflated price, but I can't ever see it going for over 100,000.

Personally, I think COAs aren't worth the paper they're written on. It's always fun to fold them into paper darts and see how far they'll fly out of the window.

I have to agree with the previous statements made. I don't think anyone in their right mind would pay the asking price based on the advert. The only picture is unimpressive, I did request more from the seller the first time he advertised this model. When he forwarded them they were all similar quality and a couple were just screen grabs from a VHS video.

Well, the auction has now ended, and unsurprisingly, no bids.

All of the other auctions "lovehit11" had running have gone as well, a spot of throwing of the toys out of the pram??!!

I wonder about the claim of a COA from Bower: if this is a replica, does that mean it's COA that asserts that bower built it? The listing states it's screen used, I'd think that if bower's COA doesn't say that it's grounds for fraud.....

I just hope no one eventually buys this thinking they gave a screen used filming model.

Quite recently two original TV used daleks went for sale and only made a bit over a grand each. Mind you they did then get a full restoration job that likely cost ten times as much.

If the model was in absolute mint condition I could see it maybe fetching 40 grand. But there are now two 'original' models and this one does not have great provenance.

As reference, the hero scale model of Deep Space Nine 'only' fetched $200K and you could have had a hero movie used Enterprise for a bit less (though finding somewhere to display it...)

I can't see collectors dropping 100K GBP on Blakes 7 gear.

Well, he's at it again...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1411649893...#ht_120wt_1016

It started at a starting price of 15.000, now it's up to 40.000 !!!
Sounds like desperation to me...

Nope.... still way too hopeful in my opinion but you never know there might be someone out there. I suspect that if you lobbed 40000 at one of the highly talented builders on here theyd make you one hell of a liberator model (sigh)
