Default UNCL Type 3 Laser Tank kit

Does anyone know what the RRP of these things were when they came out? This is the one with the large dome and flat back.

I was at the IPMS Perth Model show last week and picked one up in the kit swap, the princely sum of 15. I'm sure that was pretty cheap and I would estimate it at anything between 9 and 10 inches long. Resin and metal pieces. The corner of one piece of resin has broken off, but its there so would just need glued on.

I guess I got a good buy, and also is there any advice on making these things up? I can see where there will be some sanding needed of course.

Sounds like you got a bargain there! Does it have the decals as well?

Yes, there is a sheet with two sizes of Alpha Moonbase crests and another with other decals.

So....in total I have to build. One Airfix Hawk, one Warp Hawk, One original Airfix Eagle, One Round 2 Eagle, One Round 2 Deluxe Eagle, the Round 2 Moonbase, this, and hopefully soon the 22 inch Eagle.

According to this thread it oroginally cost 65. I'm assuming UNCL brought out two different sizes - I have the small one.

I was at Perth too with my Space Models Photo table, but I rarely look in the kit swap.

Yes, he made 2 scales of these kits. 1/96 and 1/32 scales I believe.

Well it was the first one I got, so 15 seems to have been a damned good buy.

Well, the good news is he is bringing out a 1/48 Eagle type CM tank but it is listed as a type 3 on Tony J's site Time******. This site doesn't allow any reference to Tony.
