Absolutely superb work, Roger!
Looking at my photoshopped version, I think the centre window perhaps needs to be flat, or rather at the same plane as the two standard Eagle windows, much in the same way as your Heavy Lifter version. The bottom edge of the window would follow the line of the standard windows either side.
Either side and directly in front of the centre window would be the black anti-glare panels as per the standard Eagle windows. Looking at my photoshopped version again, perhaps the centre window is a little too narrow.
I imagine one seat in this position - Commander's / Captains position, but if the window was wider - then perhaps two seats - an extra for a science specialist depending on the mission.
I've just finished work and must run now - otherwise I'd post a quick and dirty pencil sketch - I'll do that tomorrow.

All the very best - and thanks again for your fantastic work!

Howard.

Knickers ! lol )

i misinterpreted your front on pic , nevermind , we can have 2 Howard Eagles , i will finish this one with the cockpit layout i have in mind , then enhance the nose back to the correct version as u describe , i follow the correct layout now , basically the middle section needs to mirror the sides in terms of the windows and anti glare panels !

lol u get 2 Eagles for the price of one in crysis modding )

i have some other Eagles with alternative nose , will show those in a few weeks

in a few days i will have both versions done )

its 1am off to bed , i have finished the number 2 Howard Eagle tonight , the nose is now correct , and internal pit is done , tomorrow night i just need to finish some flooring on the number 1 version already shown , i have laid out the pit for this one , just a bit of flooring to adjust then its finished , so i will show both versions completed builds soon )

I tell you, I am a RPGer and have started designing a Traveller based RPG campaign set in a Space1999 style setting...actually the time I chose was 2199 but I really like your work so far. You might make a Science Pod version as well too. I would guess these would be a Mk II Eagle with increased crew to run more systems.

Regardless ...awesome work and wish I had the skill and knowlegde to render such Home Grown SciFi designs. My hat is off to you sir and I very very happy to see your ideas and hope to see more of them.

Absolutely incredible, I'm gob-smacked!
Thanks so much Roger - I'm now going to build one. It may take a while, and other projects must step aside but I have to do it,

Thanks Howard & ByGoneYrs

i think you will like GRABLOCKER alot when i decide to show her )

recently i have redone all my eagles , enhanced them , weeded out a few , and added some additional versions not shown

i am considering closing my existing thred and doing a new mod thred in the cgi section , thats a few weeks away i think , i am really busy on 1999 stuff , alot to show and discuss etc , Howard Eagle is purely a taster )

i am hoping to 3d build a landing pad starting later this week , but still need help on some blueprints of it , despite asking i seem to get little help these days , oh well !

Howard will your build be a real life model or cgi ?

p.s tonight i will post some in crysis screenshots of the Howard Eagle to complete the visuals )

Greetings Roger,

I don't have any experience with cgi modelling, apart from Bryce - which is far removed from being able to render such images as you have sir!
Here's my devart gallery - scroll down for my 'Kestrel' design - if you want you can add it to your fleet - I have more useful images if you need them, just email me.

I plan to build a physical model of your render - with a few tweaks regards the payload and perhaps the leg pods.

Cheers!

Howard.

Yo Howard , funny thing is i have trawled devianart alot in recent months and i have been to your page and seen the kestrel , its nice model and look , it looks kinda familiar and friendly ,dunno why but it does ? :-)

anyway , i was thinking the other day about the 1999 crysis mod , and the spaceships like the hawk and others and i thought perhaps one day i might add them into the 3d mod , but in my head right now i could not visualise how i would use the deep space spaceships in mod in the sb2 editor, now your kestrel i feel could look nice on the landing pad at the moonbase , so sure i can give her a whirl in 3d in a few weeks and add her to the crysis 1999 mod , if she comes out looking good after the build ?

ideally 4 view drawing or diagram is best to model from , have you a schematic of the kestrel interior drawn or planned , have you envisaged the internal layout in the main body fusalarge etc ?

i was downloading from devianart yesterday aload of aliens colonial marines modified vehicle drawing , i have in crysis already alien dropship , and multiple apcs with different wheels and weapon configurations already 3d built , i found more schematics of different dropships and apcs , so even more info and ideas to 3d build and enhance my existing models of this type - i added them to crysis as pieces of military equipment , rather than an aliens mod theme idea etc !

Wow!You've all been busy! I've not been here for a while, and not had time to do much more on my Heavy Lifter model, but I'm glad to see all this activity! Will try to post another update on my own efforts some time soon!

Maybe some windows in the floor like a Huey helicopter for maneuvering (eyes on) for heavy lift cargo positioning .

already done that , i have made a high visibility eagle cockpit version a month ago , it has a part perspex floor etc , and its ideal for sky crane usage , or even as a eagle pilot trainer cockpit , as it gives greater visibility and spacial awareness , particularly of the ground rushing up to meet you as you descend to land etc !
