Default Helijet from Thunderbirds

hi folks
does anyone out there know what kit the wheels ( situated under the main body between the atlas booster rockets) come from so i can finish my model. i have the b58 hustler and huskie kits which makes the bulk of this model, but they are not from either of them.
many thanks
Paul

Hi,
Iíve been very busy for the last year, with my job, and working on my house, so I havenít built any models in a while.
Rather than carry on with my 44Ē eagle, I thought I would build something a bit easier to get back into the swing of things.
Iíve started a thunderbirds helijet, you can see my progress here:
http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s286/tobor224/

I have a few questions I hope some of you can help me with.
1. What was the actual B58 kit used. Iíve got a couple of Italeri 1:72 scale kits, but the engines look a little small.
2. What kit is the extra window on the left hand side from ?
3. What are the small horizontal wings at the back from ?
4. Also, what is the wing between the rear engines from ?

Oh, and has anyone found out what the little wheels between the atlas booster parts are from.

hi Tobor, looking good so far. i made the same mistake as yourself re the B58 kit. DX put me right ,you need an Aurora B58 5/32 scale, its a big kit.i dont know if the window you talked about comes from a kit but i scratch built mine, the wing inbetween the rear engines are 2 parts from the huskie kit,cut up and stuck together to make one piece that fitsand again i scratch built the 2 side wings from sheet plastic. still waiting to hear about the wheels.will post photos tomorrow.
cheers Paul

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the info.
I think the Aurora kit will be very hard to find ,so Iím not sure if I will go with the engines Iíve got, or wait to see if I can get one.

Thanks for the pictures Paul very useful.
I’ve made I bit more progress and have put some more pictures up.

Does anyone know how the rear is detailed. It’s very hard to see on the dvd’s.
The Konomi model has this detail, but I don’t think it's right.

Nearly forgot, I just found these plans in a Japanese thunderbirds book.

I donít know how accurate they are, but if they are, Iíve done the landing gear detail wrong.

Hi,
The helijet is almost finished.
http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s...or224/Helijet/
I've got the correct engines and wings now, from the large Aurora B-58.
Just the small wheels to find. I'm not too worried about accuracy here, just something that looks similar.

I've also got a few more thunderbird projects lined up,
http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s...or224/Zombite/
http://s155.photobucket.com/albums/s...4/Red Arrow 2/
Then I have got to get back to finishing my 44" eagle

What saturn apollo said... very nice. Paul have you found the wheels yet? Must be a nightmare looking for all these things. Someone should start a kit basher's bank or something where everything is sourced.... a bit like an auto wreckers' network

Default Helijet

Hi guys
I'm new here and fancy having a bash at at Helijet. My question is: is the Revell 1/48 scale Hustler the same as the old Aurora one?

thanks
