Hi All, does anybody know where to get the larger eagle paper model plans?

I have tried the links in some of the older forums but nothing works

Default Photopaper Eagle

I found an old 1970s card playset on the net and did some extensive mods to it

Default paper eagle

this is my attempt to build Keithīs paper eagle; I will post my work in progress. As far as today I have built the backbone and the science subframe. This is a lot of cutting, rolling, gluing and assembling. Hope you like it.

I just moments ago finished my 17" Eagle 1 based on these templates. I spent well over 30 hours putting this thing together, spread out over some two weeks. In the spirit of full disclosure, I found that I had to acquire skills along the way, and ended up remaking the passenger pod, one of the four engine/nozzle sets, 1.5 spheres and 1/3rd of the command module.

I just have to say; THIS THING IS FANTASTIC Major props, kudos, congrats and thanks to Keith Withers and Marc Robitaille!

I myself have scratch-built and shared plans and building instructions for an RC Su-27 and EDF F-16 Falcon using similar construction techniques on thin sheet foam (Depron). IOW, I can definitely appreciate the effort they went through to make this happen. Again, thank-you very much gents.

If this is not the appropriate way to pass along my appreciation, may I kindly as how I might do so?

Sincerely

tn

My mistake, I forgot to update this post so I am showing you my completed Eagle model. This was highly textured, specially the crew cabin and the pod, hope you like it

Looks fantastic! Am I seeing this correctly - you added additional panels on top of the base structure? If so, then I would like to do the same!

Also if I may:
Yours is a 17" model?
What weight(s) of paper?

Hi Thomas, mine is exactly as yours: it is a 17" model.
The model was mainly in 180g paper, however for the paneling I printed it twice: the first print was the structure and the second print was glued onto 220g cardboard but only the panels I want raised, these were glued atop the structure.
In the case of the podīs doors I printed them trice because some panels are raised but also some panels are embossed.
As you have noticed I also glued the black windows of the bottom at the top as I didnīt like the view of the astronauts.

Thank-you - I think I will do everything you just mentioned. Thanks too for listing the weights you used. I used 92 for everything, and it is probably too light for the cargo pod. I might make that again so it has more rigidity. My whole model weighs less than 34 grams as is. In fact it is easily light enough to wrap around the guts of a micro quadcopter and fly ... if it weren’t so fragile that is!
