There is something disturbingly phallic about the "action shots"

I somehow hear this parental voice in my head saying "Well John, when two Eagles love each other very much ..... "

Sweet, nice one. congrats on a cool idea, I'm half of the mind to get one of my spare eagles and start cutting, but I'll probably stick to my hawk.

Terry.

Oliver,

I have spent the past evening cutting away the pod door on a 12" PE eagle, i have constructed a prototype tunnell and am VERY CONFUSED!!!!

How do you get the tunnell to meet with the second eagle???

the distance between the inside of each pod door is much less than the distance between the 2 eagles when they are placed side by side??? i have ended up with a docking tunnell that falls at least 15mm short of the other eagle ?????????

Help!

Yes

I just could not replicate this "appear from nowhere" effect as seen in the show

That's the only frustration with making the docking tube work this way. Its always going to be sticking part way out of the pod. The only way to get around this if you want to display the pod "doors shut" is to make a second door and use part of this first docking piece as a "plug" That means you couldn't make the sliding mechanism a permanent thing, but rather as an internal guide for the both the proper docking tube and for the closed pod "plug"

I could of course make a second tube, shorten it so that it won't stick out and replace it with the longer tube when I want to make the connection to a second Eagle.
But then I thought, I'm displaying it with a second Eagle anyway. Also this part what is sticking out is the first shot you see on the show.

More problems I'm having right now is to make the front part of the medical docking tube - the one what is connecting to the Kaldorian Ship.
I still have not found the right part. On the screen it seems to be rubber. I've spend already several hours in the local DIY stores, but couldn't find the right part.
I propably have to ask someone with a lathe to kindly make this part for me - I really need to get a lathe one day
