There appears to be another Mattel Eagle on E-bay if anyone is interested. Just follow; http://cgi.ebay.com/Mattel-Space-199...QQcmdZViewItem.

From what I can see right off, the piece on top of the CM is missing.

Hi I am new to site and am starting an upgrade of the Mattel eagle.

Who knows best way to get rid of glue so you can split it up.

Also, what is best way to get rid of columns in pod?

Great eagle. I am from Australia and would like to note the coolest eagle
Pilot was an Aussie

I had quit a few glue spots so I can only sudgest a lot of sanding with diferent sandpaper and 2 or 3 layers of primer spray paint. Hears what i did to get rid of my colums. take the spine off the top of ship ,put a small size grrinding wheel on your dremell if you have one ,cut from the top down, in abought an 8th in. cut all around the inside tower then do the same to the bottom one you have to cut them both out to take the computer towers out then sand the cut out holes, you put a piece of plastic inside then trace out , then cut out pieces of plastic then glue and patch , then all you have to do is find some weard shaped items to cover as you can see in my pictures....

sorry thought you were talking abought the computer colums in main ship, didnt take apart pod did everything from outside of pod.the only things i cut apart was the back engine conection lever area as the lever was broken inside and i had to take it out to fix it as you can see in photos, used dremal with small grinding wheel ,they do have larger thin grinding wheels you might be able to cut apart pod with ,but i wouldn't... the dremel grinding wheels very thin good to cut pieces apart with leaves very thin cut line behind it ,so might be good for pod ,but i didnt use it for the pod so its up to you if you want to take the chance on damaging the pod.
