Default The English Electric Lightning

Don't make many model kits, but I went to the RAF museum at Cosford last week (excellent place by the way), so I treated myself to this Airfix kit of the Lightning, a classic Cold War fighter.

Very nice - the Cosford museum has their Lightning hanging from the ceiling just like hundreds of little boy's bedrooms

Did you go the weekend of the model show - ie 2 Sundays ago?

Thanks, no I went last Thursday as a birthday outing. I love the way the planes are displayed in the Cold War museum.

There's also a beautiful Lightening, that you can get up close to photograph, at the Air and Space Museum in Manchester. Along with a gorgeous Hawker Hunter and one of the last Shackeleton AEW airframes to be taken out of service.
