Oooh, how fantastic is that!

Wire rings! That would have given it a different look, glad they went with perspex rings instead.

Yellow/Orange, hmmmm, glad they went with the pink instead.

Thank you for sharing this design Andy, much appreciated and fascinating to see how close the finished item was to the design sketch.

Blimey the prices have gone up a bit from that time - the tubing now cost around 25 !!

I too love the look of the Movellan guns. Maybe once I've finished my Dalek, I should build one......or two.

Default So far So good

Right chaps,
i have made the grip and cutting the slots in the hemisphere was to sat the least interesting. I have bandsawed out the four emitter segments in as close a colour to the originals as i could.

Brilliant job on the Movellan blaster. It looks just like the real prop ! Can't wait to see the Thal weapon completed as well now !

Thanks for that - i mis - cut the side slots so the rings dont fit exactly but i will sort the next one. The Thaal blaster is my interperation and is bigger than the originals. Ive weathered it down and will add the logo on the side of the Thaal ship. I also need to detail the "battery" pack and add belt hooks to both perhaps.

cheers mate,
im finding im taking a trip down memory lane. Both the Thal and movellan weapons stuck in my head when i first saw them as a child or young person. I always thought the wire and power box on the Thals pistols looked very cool. Unlike the pristine Movellan weapons ive decided the Thal weapon should look a bit beaten up. I'd love to have a go at the Staser next and perhaps a Dalek weapon of some sort before i leave Dr Who.
