The unpainted building looks like a "radar-powered greenhouse of the future" from one of those 1950s "Things To Come" films, where we'll all be wearing silver boiler suits and commuting to the Moon by 1978!!

Looking good!!

The figure is 1/13 scale. Smaller scale one isn't really needed... I could probably copy the bigger one if I did need it.
But yes, 1/13 scale - based on a 5" action figure.

Look better when it's grey with pencil lines marking out panels

Hey, really? Does the silver boiler suit make me look less fat?

Ok, group effort, if you want to play, have a rummage through your useful bits box (we all have one) and offer up some parts for the Jetbike mr Dalek has requested. If you suddenly just see how various elements can come together, either post a sketch, or gather the parts up and make it. I will make the bike if no-one else has the time.

I present for your consideration....
lrl1. Two brass welding shrouds
lrl2. An orange meccano fairing
lrl3. A rear bicycle lamp
lrl4. A silver plastic........thingy
lrl5. A jet engine intake of a broken torch

You playing?

Er.... I have a design in mind for it, Lrl. Those parts look nice and functional but what I have in mind is more retro and much more in keeping with the whole 60s theme. I will post a sketch of the bike in a bit.
I never really asked for a group build though

My fault, sorry, I should have run it past you first, not a group build, more a group design brainstorm, you only choose the parts that inspire you.

But if you have a design it's a bit redundant. Look forward to seeing it.

Rather than make a hover scooter from spare bits I've decided to build from scratch. Not easy but that way I get something which fits with my overall plan.

Here is a (very) rough drawing of the scooter... with thanks to Exterminator for pointing me in the right direction, which prompted me to go with this idea. Not exactly original, but I just love Fireball Jetmobiles.

You're going for a really cohesive look, I have to admire your attention to detail, I do hope you print out the finished strip on real paper, EAGLE transporter comic for boys!

No, it'll just be a web comic... just an experiment and a bit of fun.

I find that if I take it too seriously I get bogged depressed when things don't look as good as I wanted them to, like with the Dalek comics I did on Project Dalek and Altered Vistas websites.
The one time I DID have a comic published I was basically called a pervert by the readers of Spaceship Away... well, you can't please everyone

With this I want to see if I can present a different kind of comic, and have a lot of fun making the stuff for it.

Just checked out Altered Vistas, blimey you're productive, how much more could you possibly achieve if you do take it seriously. Personally I think you're onto a winner with physical models, they suit the subject and have a period charm. Still watching.

Er... my comics aren't on the Altered Vistas site any more as far as I know - I didn't do the animated stories. Most I did was contribute a couple of models to one of them.

The only thing I would add to that design, TV21, is a backrest to stop the puppets, er people, falling off.

Erk... never thought of that... I mean, I was wondering when someone would spot that. Well done, Conrad

Seriously, I should have thought of that...

If it's to be used by the same faction as you are doing the control room for, make the seat look a little like the one you have done for that. Red padded areas and silver bracing with holes in.

Good thinking, and yes this is for the same chap.

Just so people know what's happening here, I present a brief outline for the story:

The Daleks land on the planet Thanatos and prepare to launch a missile at the star. Earth Space Patrol officer Rex Patterson, manning a tracking station and investigating the landing site, learns that the Daleks plan use the missile to cause the sun to go nova and consume the planetary system. He has to stop them... but what can one man do against a ship-load of Daleks?

It's not a high concept story, full of amazing one liners and hard SF

For Lrl (and anyone else interested - these are more appropriate for Exterminator's film) here are some pages from my TV21-inspired Dalek CGI comics. Sorry for being pic heavy

The Mystery Planet

Probe

Invasion of the Mechonoids

I also did some for Project Dalek but we won't go there

Here are a couple of pages from my girlie comics:
Space Girls

And Red Moon Detective Agency

Now that we have that sorted, on with the physical models
