Hi guys, sorry for the silence, I've been a busy boy. Edd and I are constructing a schedule for the build of the first car and we will post that soon.

Meanwhile I am fund raising for more movies and we are constructing both a website and facebook page for what we are doing. More news shortly but thought you might want to have the links as more news will be posted there.

Thanks for posting the links Sean. It's great to see the new website underway. Seeing the videos brought back a lot of good memories of the Agent Crush website, which was such a surprise at the time. I remember reading somewhere about the Blue Peter visit, but it's the first time I've seen the video itself. I hope all goes well with getting the ownership/rights back again, the whole special atmosphere of Agent Crush deserves to have an audience.

Just watched the facebook trailer and interviews thing Sean and I thought it was brilliant.
It's great to see stuff like this still being made. The model work looked amazing and I think we've a new Gerry Anderson on our hands.

PS if you want a hand I'd be happy to help

Sorry to keep harping on but it would be nice to tie this down once and for all.
there appears to be some confusion over this pic on the flickr website saying that Graham Hill arrives for the premier of Doppleganger in 1969.

well, lets face it, if you're going to have a movie premier you would hold it outside a cinema, not a hotel, and have all the leading actors and press photographers taking pics. where was Gerry and Sylvia, and why pay for Graham Hill to be there.
was he in the film. dont think so.

it was actually a photo shoot set up by universal to promote the vehicles right after filming had finished in October 1968.

all the photo's were taken at the same, same location.

notice the triumph sign in the background. (jesus, is that a dent in the front wing).
on the back of the photo is a script, which shows the date the pics were taken.

Alan Mann racing had a contract with Ford who had a contract with Graham Hill, hence the photoshoot.

the actual premier of Doppelganger took place a year later at the Odeon cinema in Leicester Square on 8th October 1969.
(and Graham Hill wasn't there).

hope that clarifies.

Look at Strakers angled roof line profile inside the door. It seems to be not a match for the 'Hilton' car...

Well...

The 'angle' in the roof would appear to be a constant thickness across the door lining. Which suggests it was made that way.
AND the change in angle is where the roof line is.
Also the 'mud guard' flare is a different shape and in a different place.
Also the rear tiny window is much smaller and in a different place

I think the Hilton car is not the Straker car.

Cheers

Jim

OK Sean. If you're sure.
Just for curiosities sake, how/why did they get rid of the curve in the roof and make it into an angle?

Cheers

Jim

It could be that the roof profile was (intentionally or unintentionally) altered when the other modifications were made - cutting in the triangle windows, adding the roof scoop, maybe some extra strengthening? Also, hand-built cars are known for not always being exactly symmetrical, so it could be that one side is very slightly different to the other. (A friend of mine, who is an automotive designer, related a story about taking an old DeTomaso Mangusta into an automotive design studio and measuring it, and then finding out that the left and right sides were different by up to 2 inches in some areas). I wonder if there is any documentation or photos around that outline the modifications made for UFO.
