I haven't worked up the nerve yet to mess with the main engines.
The VTOL's are glued on, just twist em.
Primary red is the color. Not sure if you'd what to scale it or not though

even with a twist that easily

I'm now at 4 p/es and my biggest complaint is the gaps where they join together the landing pods.
I also want to fix the "strike" on the cheek (where the c.m. is joined)
I was thinking of bondo, what do you all think? Has anyone done this?

Thanks Rob, got to to the point of finishing 1 landing gear
except for the springs and trying to finish the 2nd , set rod up against
Engine area.
Painted parts in cages and Baremetal foiling bells and vtol thrusters.
Also finished the spine fix.

I also made a duplicate Command module from Smooth-on's sample
pack and realized that I could use the CM for the Ertl kit as well, since
the size is almost the same and much better that Ertl's CM

The only thing left is to try and locate some FDW and some decals from
Jbots

Just received my 2nd PE transporter.

Sorry I missed your post on this here Rob, only noticed Doon's post

Okies - so I got me a broken PE from eBay - the spine was already snapped off and a couple of pod feet are broken off, but where do I start with the rest of the dissection? A step-by-step would be greatly appeciated by those who have had the nerve to do it ...

Yeah, that's what's inspired me, but I just don't know the best sequence to get it apart - which bits are screws, which bits are just glued? That sort of thing (I'm resisting the temptation just to have at it with my monkey paws) ... HUMAN DECISION REQUIRED!

ALRIGHT
This is great!
Just have to find a suitable filler for any seems, one that doesn't require as much painting as squadron putty

Most of it has either been glued probably with crazy glue and screws,
the hardest part is diassembling, it was a gut wrenching feeling of
taking something apart and trying not to break anything else

From the looks of the picture, you don't have much to fix, just some
crazy glue, I use a piece of clay with indents and pour a drop of crazy
glue and use a tooth pick and dip the pick and apply to areas and attach
the parts. this should get you on your way, unless you want to dismantle
the PE for accurizing, I hope this helps you

best of luck

The only part I intend to fix is the pod, the rest I intend to break down into component parts for a kitbash project. I guess I just have to take a deep breath and wade in there ...
