Would it be possible for someone to post some good pics of a Warhammer Space Marine Landspeeder ? I plan on building a large scale model and could use as much reference as I can get !

Err the 'new' version is in fact the third incarnation of a Space Marine Land Speeder, there was an even older, much smaller metal kit out in 1990, used for both Space Marines and Imperial Guard.

I'm not 100% sure to be honest ! At the moment I'm just collecting reference pics before I decide which version to build . I'd like some close ups of an actual model , as it seems that detailed shots are pretty well "policed" by Games Workshop !

This is the smaller of the 2 versions I'm considering ( and therefore the most likely build ). I've quite a few good pics and I think I'm quite close to building a "test model" from foamcore .

Thought I'd share some pics of my latest Space Marine . From the Ultramarine Chapter , I see my guy as a relative "rookie" at the beginning of his career , so his armour's pretty clean and undamaged at this point . I intend to add weathering , battle damage , honour seals , decorations etc as his experience progresses . The concept being he is always a w.i.p who "evolves" with this experience .

( The helm is hollowed out and therefore fits over the headsculpt ).

There's still a bit of work to do yet , ( the collar is a temporary "place holder" , as is the white padding visible under the leg armour ) but he's about 80% done .
And I've also some opposition on the workbench ......

I'm getting the feeling you don't like the new head ?
Shame really , as it's the same one Mark is going to use on YOUR Marine !!

( Seriously though , the head is in need of a re-paint as it's just "plonked on" at the moment . It's a good sculpt so it'll look a lot better when it's painted "properly" .)

Default Future Freedom Fighters

Here are a couple of WIP shots of the "Future Freedom Fighters" from Crooked Dice that I am working on.

First I bought some "Granite Wasteland" bases from a company called Anvil Industries". These were undercoated Games Workshop "Chaos Black", basecoated "Desert Yellow", washed with "Gryphonne sepia", and then drybrushed with "Desert Yellow", a 50:50 mix of "Desert Yellow" and "Bleached Bone", and finally with pure "Bleached bone"

I still have to paint the rocks, and I will add some staqtic grass once I am sure where the models will fit on the bases.

I have also started on two of the models that will go on them. "Jor Drake" and "Golan Nag", also from Crooked Dice.

Seen here undercoated "Skull White" and given a wash of "Gryphonne sepia" to make the details stand out a bit more for the camera.

I picked up a blister of these models a couple of weeks ago from Andy at Ainsty Castings. Its looking like the range of these minis will be expanded next year, fingers crossed.

I already have the Servalan and Travis minis, along with a pack of the Federation guards to make into a little diorama.

Yes, Crooked Dice's current newsletter says 5 more "Future Freedom Fighters" are to be released in April. I really hope that's not an early April Fool, and can't wait to see them, even the one that's only a box!

And again for those looking to go somewhere else other than Games Workshop, take a look at http://dreamforge-games.com/catalog/ as their Leviathan Crusader has hit the stores in multi-pose plastic. What a feat of engineering. A lot of thought has gone into the sprues for this 8.5" monster. The joints in its legs work, as does a system to twist the torso and move the arms. The arms are also removable so later you can swap them out for different weapons. It should be out online for around 85 ($120) and knocks the forgeworld titans on their collective backsides.

Take a look at this, the stuff you get in the box.

This is the delivery I got from Stage 1 of their Kickstarter, a Leviathan Crusader with extras, a 20 man infantry squad, and 2 infantry accessory sets.

The copy of PCGamer should give a sense of the scale of these things.

This is the box with the Leviathan inside. I just love the way it is packaged, foam on the top,

Then underneath, the sprues are stacked on top of each other in two sets. To prevent damage the sprues include pins and cups so they don't move or crush. There is another piece of foam on one side to fill out that part of the box, because underneath those sprues and a piece of card is

A plastic tray with the final parts, a bag of screws, and a small screwdriver. The screwdriver is actually too small for almost all the screws, but most people should have one the correct size.

To give another indication on how big this 8 1/2" tall model will be (in 28mm) on the tabletop, I have built the two Vulkan cannons I got, clipped them together until I paint them anyway, here they are with a pound coin.

Well, Crooked Dice have been as good as their word. The entire "Future Freedom Fighter" crew of seven models are out in three sets - plus their previously released sets of "Federated guards" and "Winterly and Travers".

I picked up sets two and three of the Future freedom Fighters at Salute, the UKs largest war games show held at the Excel centre in the London docklands, I was working there on 19th/20th April for the show.

Just need to do something with them now!
