Another for skeletons, however the sabertooth fight in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger was special for me, that was the first of his work I got to see on the big screen rather then on TV.

His stuff has so much character, For me It is the Skeletons, followed by the Medusa sequence, that has to be one of the greatest in stop motion lighting and tricks!
I hate all this computer rubbish in films now, models are always better as they are actually there!, so in a sense it is real, they should go back to the old techniques, they never will though mostly due to cost and time, shame, progress isn't always progress

If anyone is interested I have one of the Medusa replica models by gentle giant for sale, It's the most accurate I've ever seen, It's from 2006.
It's quite hard to find now, since only a limited amount were made.
PM me if interested

Some films still use models. The effects in 'Batman Begins' were largely miniature effects as were those in 'The Dark Knight'. Found a couple of clip of effects from both movies that show the miniature work off quite well http://www.youtube.com/user/SB111058#p/u/1/1eAuegQUd3I

Great stuff!, Yeah sometimes they do use them but it's more the exception than the rule, unfortunately

Three Million Miles to Earth is one of my favorite Harryhausen flicks. Indeed I love Ray's work (I have a book I had signed by him at Wonderfest a few years ago).

But, and I am a little ashamed to admit it... my favorite scene in a Harryhausen flick is NOT an animation one, but an acting one.

In the film "The Seventh Voyage of Sinbad" the crew rescues a wizard and con man who is trying to get back to some place and grab an object he was seeking when he got into trouble. Sinbad's crew take him back to Bagdad and during a reception, the king of Bagdad asks him if he can see the future. The wizard replies yes. So the king asks what does he see for the future of Bagdad.

"I see WAR...Death and destruction...buildings crumbling to the ground!"

I guess the wizard really COULD see the future.
