I haven't used a 2 part paint before. For those who have used FDW I'd like to know some of your experiences with it.
I managed to get some FDW off Ebay. I was surprised it didn't get stopped at customs. It appears creamier and not as bright as the bright white (Trimclad/Rust-Oleum) I was originally going to use. The formula mix is: 100 part color 50 hardner 30 thinner Pot life 4 hrs once mixed. Is 30 thinner enough for an airbrush? Another question, can I use any type of thinner? Not sure what virgin solvent 2k thinner is?? Anything else ?? Thanks |

Get some "rocket" an additive to accelerate the cure time, pot life down to less than an hour, this will ensure you have full cure for the next day - for rub down etc. virgin thinner - unused new and not recycled is clear like water, std thinner might have a tint, ok for most work and gun wash! Make sure you gun wash with no delay!!!!!

I did refer to a "gun", but anything you want to reuse - clean when wet! It is more difficult to clean than cellulose single pack paint whne dry/cured.
And wear a mask - air feed better, it is not nice stuff! |
