Default 24" Star Destroyer Commission - In Pictures

Words fail me.

I wish I'd had the time to shoot this properly.

Maybe soon I'll hit it again as these images simply do not do it justice...

Thanks!

Honestly, you can't even begin to appreciate it unless you see it in the flesh. The sheer amount of detail (killed by the flash) is just... well, like I said - insane!

It was a real bugger capturing the effect of the lights and I'll have another attempt soon.

Maybe I'll bring it along to a 'meet' sometime too.

That looks pretty damn cool! I'm not a huge Star Wars fan but I know an excellent piece of modelmaking when I see it. That's bloomin' good.

This is typical of the detail all over the model. Just that the flash doesn't convey it so well in most pics...

Yup, right down to the loose change in the cash register in Canteen 7, level 26.

The killer feature is the lit hangar bay underneath - but I was unable to capture it's blue light-bathed goodness!

I bet you're sitting there in a darkened room with it all lit up and taking you back to 1977 when this beast first flew overhead on the big screen...oh happy days.

Weren't we spoilt for good S.F. entertainment in the 70s...

Makes me wish I was 13 again !!!

I was eighteen at the time and I remember standing in line for the first screening at the Bromley Odeon. Remember the days when there used to be queues for the cinema?

I got that beat.

26 times..

...but I did know the manager at the cinema and we got in free a lot of times and it became a bit of a running gag as to how many times we could see Star Wars.

Like I said, not a huge fan.

I need to email the modeler and let him know I am in ABSOLUTE AWE!!!! (cue Ewok chant of reverence when they saw Threepio from ROTJ)

This is the most unbelieveable Star Destroyer Replica I have ever seen!!!

I showed the pics to my friend at work and he too, being a STAR WARS nut...
jaw hit floor instantly!

Just INSANE!!! I could plainly hear John Williams fanfare in my head as I viewed the images.
Thanks for sharing the photos of your prize with us Mark (i.e. "you lucky devil").
