Default SIXTEEN-12 HAWK REPLICA UPDATE

Just received this email from Steve:

“ A very Happy New Year from all at Sixteen 12 Collectibles!
2010 – Year of the Hawk!

As we speak , all molding and tooling has been finalized for the HAWK Prop Replica and full production of the 200 models begins at our factory on Thursday.

Production lead time is 7 weeks giving an estimated shipping date of end of Feb. This means that the model will arrive in the UK mid March.

THERE IS NO GOING BACK!
We are VERY excited that finally this model is in production and we would like to say a big THANK YOU to Martin Bower for giving this project the impetus to help it move forward.

The Edition is now pre sold.
Prior to shipping from our factory we will require commitment to pre orders with a deposit of £50 in order to secure your order and guarantee a part of the edition.

Early in Feb we will contact each collector holding a pre order to organize payment etc.

Please find attached a photograph from the workbench displaying the original deco master model alongside the first stage tooling pattern.

In the meantime, should you have any questions regarding your pre order please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Kind Regards
Steve Walker “

Quite frankly my biggest beef is with the CM’s BLACK anti-glare panels…

Both the AB and RU CM have that same appearance-maybe they're right and everyone else is wrong including Bower.............

Actually the 16/12 CM resembles the 16" Hawk CM not the larger scale one.

I was basing the colour question on the posted photo of the Deco Master.

"Revised black window detail as advised by Martin Bower".

Obviously taking the time to look at the episode is too much trouble for anyone involved on the project.

I love and have the outmost respect for Martin Bower…but his decision on this (apparently based on his personal taste) disappoints me a bit…

Blind Freddy could feel that that CM wasn't right... why was the money when you can get a very nice kit this looks a little like and make it yourself for way less. Over it actually.

yes, it's probably the Mark IX-B or maybe this is the new Transwarp Hawk or was this the even newer Mark X with 10% more headroom?

This page from the Catacombs is also interesting for its side-by-side comparison of the original 16 and 31 inch Hawks:

Forgive my confusion if I've missed a thread here, was there a 19" Hawk? Is this in scale with something I don't know about? It also appears this 19" version is based on the smaller 16" model - specifically the command module. Regardless of size, Aesthetically between the two, the 31" studio model Command module is far superior and clearly intended as the "Hero." Why go with the smaller?

Well, if the garage kit fits... Its a spot on comment, hence my being over the whole thing, and why I made the suggestion that one could get the kit for much less and make a very nice model, and even have a go at a better CM. Hats off the the garage kit for having a go at it, but this is supposed to be a prop rep that's costing an arm and a leg. Good luck to them.
