hi Barry ,welcome and very glad you found your way here. i hope you are still making puppets. i had a scarlet and blue from you many years ago but poor finances forced a very reluctant sale of them recently . i hope you will be able to add some of your wealth of knowledge to the forum
cheers Paul

Does anyone know if the John cast in circulation is a complete cast off the original or another one from the "death mask", I say this because to me the ears don't look the same as the original but the main part of the face does, any ideas anyone?

He is the full bean, that wigging is simply amazing.

Do you have anything from Fireball or Stingray hanging out in your kitchen?

Welcome Barry. I am, to say the least, a novice at making replica’s (keen to learn), but hear that you’re up there with Chris, Terry, Phil, Daz and a few others.

Best wishes

Andy

Default Cap In Hand

Hi,

Spurred on by Jamie’s recent pic and with guidance from Terry and Phil, I’m part way through making my first cap (pic attached), which is a trial run for doing a fibre glass one.

I’ve got some way to go, but learnt that you need a very sharp knife and to be careful not to get the glue on the wrong part of the leather.

I used (Letraset) Leteraline black tape, but also used the same in white but think I might have made a mistake. Should I have used something else like sticky backed plastic ??

Hi

There is a really good product for pin striping it called trim line. It comes in loads of colours including white and you get a selection of different widths on a 2.5 metre roll
I've use black as an example so you can see the product againt the backing paper. Its a good quality flexible self adhesive tape.

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the steer, I'll check it out. I wonder what they used in the 60's or was trim line around then ?
