No it isn't available yet. That's just another e-bay person getting a bit ahead of the game. Allegedly next week, but I've also heard June.

And yes, like the Apollo Saturn V (and the Saturn V Skylab) the revised CSM/LM shroud parts are included. Why wouldn't they be?

Thanks Donald. I'm having to reconsider as it is double the price suggested before. That would make the kit nearly $500 in total.

I'll have a think.

Wonderland said Monday 4 April, but so many people are reporting that the kits they've ordered are on their way, maybe Airfix managed to get them out a few days early.

Once I was able to remember my username and password, I went ito RI and had a look. It does look really good, but do wonder about the price for the amount of resin you are getting. However I will probably not be able to resist and will end up getting it

Resin Illuminati

http://www.resinilluminati.com/showthread.php?t=8992

AJAModels posted the Aries 1B instructions there, so I had to join to get access to those. Not really looked around much.

these are interesting. anyone care to comment...i'm a bit confused...does it mean that airfix haven't done all the fixes to the apollo csm and les shroud?

ther's also mods to parts of the saturn v too if you check the sellers other items

this seller used to do a saturn 1b kit at 1/96 (revell scale) in resin and (seperatly) an accurate csm for the saturn v, (which i have in the loft), but maybe he's stopped doing them

These are if you want to make a Saturn 1 as opposed to a Saturn 1B with Apollo. The Airfix Command Module is still underscale as the Boost Protective Cover can't be made thin enough to cover an accurate CM (it would have to be paper thin). And the SPS engine is still the old part. But if you are building the kit as the launch vehicle, neither part needs to be used in any case.

He also does corrected rear thrust structures for the 3 stages, as well as batted F1 engines for the first stage - all very reasonably priced. I have had some parts from him before, and have just ordered a few sets to make my 3 Saturn models as good as I can.

It will be nice to build these again as I last did them over 30 years ago !

That's very interesting Chris. Thanks for that. That's presumably for the Saturn V?

No joy at Wonderland today. They have received the paperwork, so expect the kits will show up sometime next week.

Will you be going to the RAF Cosford show next weekend?

Yes - Saturn V mostly.

Unfortunately I'm very busy for a few weekends coming up, so can't make Cosford - though have been meaning to get there for several years now.

Got my Saturn 1B today.

It's obviously got the updated CM/SM & LM adapter, but as a bonus it also has the old top bulkhead part of the SM which is required for the Eagle 1 leg pods and we all need for our builds. Well done Airfix !
