Default Scratchbuilt Ground Equipment

Just thought I'd post some pics of some stuff I've been working on to go with my Moebius Flying Sub diorama currently underway on the Hobbytalk forums here http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=263560

I figured this kind of scratchbuilt stuff would fit in well here....

This one started as a sweetener tab container....

and formed the basis of this refuelling rig...

Still needs some wheels, courtesy of the Airfix Scammell again, and some heavy weathering but here it is after a coat of Halfords orange auto paint...

Weathered ...still some bits to add but it's 90% finished...

Another item I found in the trash was this ink cartridge....

which has become a large generator with the addition of the inside of the Sweetex dispenser and some panels from a few beat-up Tamiya tanks in my spares box...

A coat of industrial looking yellow and it's starting to look the part...again more weathering and hoses/pipes etc to come....

Here's the power unit suitably weathered with some generic decals from the spares box...

Here's the inverter for the lightsheet used inside the sub which I want to hide on the diorama...

...so I've built this unit from sheet styrene to disguise it...

I'm planning on feeding the wires into the FS via some ducting, rather like the ground equipment you see feeding power to fighter jets.

The top is enclosed by a lid with some suitable detail attached...

Here's a group shot of the three pieces I've built so far all to 1/35 scale...a bit of a theme developing here with the colours, what colour next I wonder....

Very nice job, it just show's what can be done with stuff that would otherwise be thrown into the bin, and a bit of imagination and thought. Keep em coming.....

Not bad for a scouser.. Brilliant work Jason. The flyingsub is a great kit and if I had your skills I would make it look a little more beat up than the rest of the builds I have seen which all seem to have that new out of the box look.
Great work thanks for sharing.
