Default UFO Shado Spacecraft 534

I like practically every vehicle that appeared in UFO (except for that Russian mobile drilling rig) and upon studying them I have discovered that 4 spacecraft are built almost entirely from model kits including their main structure. Yippee! No having to carve and mould their forms.

Here is my first attempt Ė a work in progress. Unfortunately my first choice has very little to reference it against Ė only one shot in UFO and 3 more from Frontier In Space (Dr Who). However I think I know what its main form is based on - itís just filling in a few details with educated guesses and a bit of conjecture!

These parts are conjecture but seem to do the job.

Update.

The command module end looks truncated and not at all pointy so I have blanked off the end with a part from the Airfix Superfortress that fits quite nicely - the front is never seen so really this is conjecture but I do find it amusing that this particular part fits here.

Done a bit more. I think the Honest John bits may be there but everything else is pure conjecture using parts from kits used on the other models.

WOW
And nearly every single part used looks familiar to me.

Just using up the bits that don't (I think/hope!) get used on the other UFO models.

Hey BB, those Honest John bits you've used appear on the front of the Mobile ( well, one of them does). Also on the back of Skydiver. Also used on the Interceptor.
That's just off the top of my head, there are probably more..........
Cheers,
Chas

Barrington,

I've been meaning to post this for a while - sorry!
I came across this photo of the late Bernard Wilkie from the BBC visual effects department holding the model (in the Radio Times Dr Who Special).
The yellow lines are caused by bad registration on the printing of course, and aren't a feature of the craft itself.

Thought it might help with the top details

Keith

Wow!

Thank you!

I have not been participating for several months at this forum due to family matters. I only intended to have a month off to revitalize myself and come back with fresh eyes only other personal events intervened.

Basically I have not progressed my version any further than the last post - to do this I need to get all the crap being stored in my shed out so that I can get in there!!!

Hmmm, looks a bit bare on top but most of my detailing was made up anyway just trying to keep the flavour of the other models used. Hey ho actually I quite like the panel work I added to mine so I may keep it that way.

Now to work out what Ian Scoones/Mat Irvine might have added to it for its appearance in Dr Who.

Thank you so very much,
Barry
