Default Help identifying Blakes 7 parts?

Hey folks.
No, not Liberator or Scorpio - but this Ore Ship looks to be a nice easy build.
Trouble is, i can only spot the leg of the Airfix LM in there.
Everything else is a mystery to me and most look distinctly non-kit imo.
Its a long shot - but can anyone help?
(the more i look at the long tubes the more they remind me of a black plastic shape i once had. Maybe a float from an Action Man dingy?)
As usual, any help would be appreciated.

Well, there's certainly a couple of Space Shuttle external fuel tanks and the tubular cage part is an EMA ladder cage.

Ever the expert - ta DX. So the big tubes are the Space Shuttle parts yes?
Got a feeling, looking at it more closely, that the two ball things could be that old 60's/70's kit of a proposed Lunar Lander, which was a couple of cylinders stacked vertically, but here laid horizontally. Certainly look like there's something under the cage joining them together.

There appears to be a shuttle main engine stuck on the back too.

Bits from Airfix 1/72nd Lunar lander, Cut down parts from an 1/25th AMT General Hauler and a couple of bits from Tamiya's 1/35th 88mm.

Blimey! Thanks folks - that did the trick.
Would've been a nice easy build back in the early 80's when all the kits were just there in the shops.
Might be trickier now, but i'll have a go.

I don't think any of that is hard to find so you should be OK.

Hi All,

Wow you guys have done it again!

Identify part central this is, fantastic stuff.

Some piccies I have taken of the Ore ship, hope they are of use.

I think I took this last photo.

I've been to so many shows etc now I'm losing track of what I took and where, it was on my hard drive but I'm not 100% sure it's mine.

So if it is someone else's I hope it is okay to post it here, pm me if not and I'll take it down.

Great to see more Blake's 7 topics.

Cheers,

Andy

The side cylinders on the ore ship remind me of the Action Man commando raft.
Don't know why.

Well, the bit joining the two ETs together (just in front of the Bronze tank is an engine from the MPC/Ertl Star Wars X-Wing

That's it - the Action Man raft is EXACTLY what i was thinking they were. But they ain't - got two of the Space Shuttle kits for the External Tanks now so i'm a happy bunny.
Also picked up a built and painted X Wing for the afore-mentioned R2D2 halves (what fun that was to pry them apart...) for 99p of the 'Bay.
Trying to justify the humongous p&p for the ladder cage at the mo'...

Ooooops! Sorry no 88mm (Must have been another site?), but there is an AMT/Ertl X-wing (large version) in there.
What I thought were 88mm, are actually pipe stacks from 1/25th AMT GM General hauler. I didn't see the better shots posted later on.

Hey, that's ok. Have bought an 88mm for it but it doesn't matter - its a real mine of fine detailed parts isn't it?
Can sure find uses for them no prob.

Well, got the EMA ladder with cage for this at the biggest scale they do - 1/20th.
But its not big enough:

Guees back in the late 70's they did bigger.
Oh well, never mind. Now it'll be an "inspired by" rather than a faithfull reproduction.

Well, thanks to the Hairdryer ship i now know these blobs on the tanks just forward of the engine are Concentric Reducers
But folks, any idea what the gold tube is that the engine bell is attached to?

Have you tried the Plastruct website? There might be something on that. Just a thought!
