Default Captain Scarlet hat

I remember a child's Captain Scarlet hat made of thick vinyl? and a clear peak with the communicator that came down to your mouth.

I've looked for one on ebay and other sites but have never seen one. Are they rare then and how much would one be worth?

I used to have the red waistcoat with the shoulder pieces in plastic as well. One of my favourite outfits.

Ahh, the memories.

Default Captain Scarlet Playsuit & Vinyl Hat

My brother and I both had the hard vinyl Captain Scarlet hats and there is a black & white picture of both of us wearing them - I have looked everywhere to try and purchase another one but cannot even find a picture let alone the actual item
I also remember feeling incredibly envious of my friend Nigel at Junior school who not only had the vinyl hat but the WHOLE uniform !!!

Here is a good case in point for at least putting the city and country where you live in the world. You'd be surprised how many people live in your area that visit this forum. Add your details to the User CP.

Not me then. Pity, I thought I'd found another school chum on the web.

Does anyone know what sort of value one of these hats would have today?

Mint ones (with an unbroken peak) can fetch 200 odd

I had one of these but it had a broken peak (quite common!) and a few years ago i saw and then bought a complete one on ebay.As the buyer was packing it for postage to me, they broke the peak! ---------------c'est la vie!

hi - I got one off ebay last year for 35!! there was no pic and I had to phone the dude to make sure it was the right one - its in good nick but no badge

then a few months back I got the mail away suit in the box - it had the tunic, trousers and boots

aha - I already had the cap gun and holster so I bunged it all together and I now have the complete suit apart from the gun belt, total cost about 130 I think

Looks great. Can we see the hat from other angles?

I remember my Dad making me a Captain Scarlet hat out of painted card. It looked perfect but did not last long.

Yes, can you show any other pics of the hat please? You did well to find one at that price, I haven't been able to see one at all.

The tunic takes me back. Mine fell apart after being used so much and I'd always wished that the shoulder pieces could light up like they do in the show.

Aaaah the memories. Are these different from the other pictures because the epaulettes are certainly different and the mic on the cap are different colours. Do the mics pull down to your mouth, the one I had used to.

I remember the gun, is it cap firing? I'm sure one of my cousins had it and I was lucky enough to play with all his toys one summer holiday when I was about 10 years old. He had everything you could imagine in Anderson including my all time favourite toy the TB4 Submarine. I wasn't jealous, just very, very sad when it was time to go home, I would buy that toy if I could find one.

Any chance of a picture of the gun out of the holster please?

Thanks for sharing, that's brilliant
