Can I be the first to vote for a four way tie. They are all equally great. Now if you were to break them down into categories say best wheeled vehicle, best tracked vehicle, best space vehicle and best air vehicle then I wouldn't have a problem voting. I can't honestly vote for one above the others, they all meet the same high standard.

I agree that this has been a very close call. I have been very impressed by all the builds, even those that did not make the deadline. I also am looking forward to seeing pictures of those builds as they appear.

In short, congrats to all those who took part, it was amazing, educational, and definately inspiring.

All four are great models, great scratch builds, congratulations to all four of you. Still we have to pick one. And one of them is more than "just" a good combination of good parts, but much more a design...
I would love to see all models in short movie clips. Good job, every one of you!

How do people vote. Do they just say who they want on this thread or via PM ?

One vote for Tim.

However, also like a lot of other scratch builds. Congratulations also to their work by the Blue Moon, Forza 27 and Exterminator.

Can the finalists vote for their fellow finalists (obvously not themselves-I hope ) or are we automatically restricted?

Wow, this is really hard...all in all, I'd have to go for exterminator for the subtle approach.

This comp has been great, and I've really enjoyed reading the contributor's threads as their builds unfolded...
For me, Blue Moon won with his pure genius use of a found item for the body of the vehicle.
Exterminator won for succeeding in mimicing the look of those TB aircraft - I love the swept up wings.
Tim won by successfully matching the work of MB - especially the colour scheme and astonishing kitbashing.
But for me, forza 27's build had just that extra little something - probably the design ethic which was carried out perfectly.
Congrats to all!

The photos for Blue Moon and Time Smith are not showing for me. Anyone else with this problem?

Thanks for all the kind comments! It was wonderfully challenging, and as a bonus, kept me out of my wife's hair, which I'm sure she's grateful for. I must admit, the photo chosen here may be the most frightening of all! Cricket's spelling of my name must be that Ohio "non-accent" coming through. Hat's off to the other contestants, great work all around. Those who didn't finish, hey, keep up the good work, we'd all like to see it!

Tim's model looks a lot like something that Martin Bower would have made for Space,

Very Nice work Tim!

Well this has set a very high bar for future competitions. I hope it doesn't scare away potential entrants. Just remember it's all about having fun building models and not about being the best.

Excellent work all round.

Thanks to the entrants who posted their progress and details of their techniques. Very informative and inspirational stuff indeed.

Cheers

BTW i have no issue with the finalist voting as worst case is they all vote for their own model, cancelling each other out, so i see no unfair gain to be had.
