Default Thunderbirds Story Files

Just got the first two books in this six-volume series so any Thunderbirds fans out there should pick these up now! Excellent reference. Like those odd photonovels that were popular back in the late 70s and early 80s for big films.

Most of the images look to be screengrabs from the DVDs (still good though), plus the usual smattering of merchandise pics, character and machine profiles and other bits and bobs. (All in Japanese, of course.)

A couple of pluses are the additions of A2 double-sided tearout posters of the artwork that went with some of the early kits and large blueprints of TB1 and TB2 in the first two issues.

Also included are updated digital cutaways of 1 and 2. (These are fold-out leaves but bound into the spine.) The other machines will appear in subsequent volumes.

About 118 pages each on heavy stock.

I'm buying more! Gawd, I sound like an advert!

PS: These blow away my Town Mook bought 26 years ago, but these just make it all the more precious.

Any chance of a few choice scans of the machine profiles to wet our appetites and raise our limit on our credit cards

I can shoot some pics when I get home but scanning may be more difficult due to the binding and not being able to get the pages flat...

we'll come up with something.

I've got the first one and am just waiting on volume 2. Can certainly endorse what has been said about them:-)! Well worth it.

I've got them all (well as many as can currently be ordered) on order with HLJ...they looked good from the HLJ pages, and you can't complain at the price...

It would be extremely cool, if they did the same book treatment for Space 1999 and UFO.

Well, leaving my tripod back in the UK after my hols has proved to be a mistake...add to that a combination of poor lighting, a shaky hand and an aggressive flash and that makes for some terrible pics.

Don't really want to put the book in a scanner because of the possible spine damage. If the books had been hardbacks and if I had had an A3-sized platen that might have worked.

Will try again after work, but can't guarantee the results. Failing that, trust me and buy them because Japanese genre books such as these are always top notch. In fact, buy two each, they're that good.
