Default Aoshima Diecast ZERO-X

Just found on the Hobby Link Japan site they have listed a diecast Zero-X by Aoshima.

It is listed at an earlybird price of $113.20 U.S. (60.17 Pounds Sterling) which ends August 25th.

No pictures are shown but we may finally have the ultimate Zero-X made.

To find it type Thunderbirds in the search part then look under Completed Models.

I can't find anymore info on this, so with this price it better be worth it.

There's another thread in ths forum that has a p/p picture of Zero-X. It certainly looks the part and as Aoshima are doing it, I'm sure it'll be a great model.

http://www.eagletransporter.com/foru...pic.php?t=1257

Just placed my order for one too!

They offer two versions - one from Thunderbirds and one from Captain Scarlet - both available for pre-order...

Now which one to get...

Oh the pain !!!

I'm not too weel up on Zero-X. What's the difference between the Thunderbirds version and the Captain Scarlet version?

The difference is in the MEV.

It's how the windows are on the white stripe on the very front, if memory serves me correctly.

The MEV in the Captain Scarlet version has the words "Martian Exploration Vehicle" on the sides and a different grill on the front.

I've got my order in too. I hope it is the same as the one in the photo posted a while ago as it looks superb.

Guys, thanks for clarifying the difference between the two. Now can I justify getting one of each?

Anyway, I was looking round the Aoshima website and came across this page;

http://www.aoshima-bk.co.jp/scripts/...net.aspx#09086

There's two small pictures there, but it looks like this model will come with the landing gear on the lifting bodies. Looking good so far!

Is it me or do those pictures look like there might be two colour variants? One looks distinctly greener than the other. Also is this Aoshima release going to be a PE product soon since they seem to mirror each other's ranges?

Just received confirmation from HLJ of my order for Zero X and there is a link to a page with photos. The nosecone obviously comes off as does the MEV, but not so sure about the lifting bodies. It seems to have retractable undercarriage.

It does look very good indeed.

I noticed too that it points out the area of the escape pod on the MEV.

Looks like it may come out.

Also looks like you have the choice of it in the take-off mode with the undercaraige down and an in flight mode on a stand.

Would be nice to know what the lenght and wingspan is going to be.

I was thinking today

Would nt it be lovely if someone commissioned a box like the old Dinkys used to have, with that gorgeous painting on the outside of the box and the inner plinth(think Thunderbird 2,FAB 1 SPV Joes car)It d have to be a Dinky Supertoy, say no.629 Zero X from the movie "Thunderbirds are go!"
Those Dinky plinth boxes and those from Corgi hold a very special place in my childhood memories and that packaging has never been surpassed!

Looks like the size is 380 mm (14.96 inches) according to just type ZERO-X in the search engine after you click the icon.

They also ship worldwide for an alternative source if anyone is interested, I have never delt with them tho.

HobbyWorld FAQ corner

They have both versions for a pre-order of 12,420 Yen or about $106.58 US. A little cheaper than HLJ & postage depends on the weight of the goods and the area you live in & also looks like a 500 Yen ($4.30 US) charge for CC orders.

Now that this has arrived, I'm completely underwhelmed by it...

Maybe some larger pics would sway me.

Why underwhelmed? Looks stunning to me, just preordered mine. A 15" die cast accurate Zero X. I`d have sold a kidney for one when I was a kid

Well, going by the very first photo someone found a while ago and the box and other stuff around the Zero X model it did not look like it was going to be particularly big. Perhaps just a bit smaller than I had hoped for for right enough.

Well I hope everyone's got their order in for Zero X as HLJ have put a stop on any further orders. They are now advertising it should be available 31 October or shortly thereafter.

I wonder what ratio of Thunderbirds to CS versions Aoshima are making. Personally I ordered the TB version.

Here's something just a little too coincidental.

Painted the garage doors this weekend and the paint is Cobalt Blue.

On the metal doors almost matches the colour of the ZERO-X!

Looks great, now, can I get away with painting the fromt to look like the MEV?!?!

Wife will kill me!!
