Default Eagle Gift Set Release date is....TODAY !!!

Was supposed to be July 06. They have obviously missed that target.
(suprise.)

When's it due? Site still says July.

PE has already squashed the Irwin Allen releases. I had my birthday and Christmas list all ready.

If they boot the Lt Ellis release too, I'll really be aggravagated.

why can't we ever get decent release info from PE? They nevre hit deadlines, and the ones they post on their site are obviously out of date. Doesn't anyone mind the store anymore?

Who at PE passed this info along to you? Their site still says July, as you noted (and August as well in other places). And FabGear still says October. Simply saying 'PE said...' doesn't tell us much - ie not a great attribution to help clarify or confirm the info.

Ah, so you got the information in a generic email from PE. Good to know (though unfortunate that it apparently keeps being pushed back).

Thanks

HI, I only live a few miles away from product enterprise's location in Somerset (England). do you think a Protest march with banners would help speed up the release date of the eagle gift set and VIP Eagle?
I really hate waiting for Eagles!
The fastest way you can discover the release date is to Traul E-bay on a daily basis in the hope October was a mistake and PE really meant the beginning of September

Hmm, would going to the small coaching house, which is Steve's private home, and asking him to 'hurry up' help with release dates? Probably not, as all of the delays are occurring 10,000 miles away in China, or at sea. Or at customs.

Yeah, I know it was a joke, but it would p*ss Steve off monumentally, after all, the delays are costing him money, not just 'annoying' him! But you'll all be over the moon (geddit?) when they do arrive, and at least the news page keeps getting updated, so it's not as if we're totally in the dark!

It's good of Steve to answer emailed queries; he gets around 300 to 400 emails a day, mainly about when are things going to arrive, and he is a one man company!

For over 20 years all we had was the cursed AirFix Eagle. Then some garage kits of varous quality. Then the really nice Warp kit with the resin-from-hell don't sneeze or you'll break it.

Finally we get the PE Eagle.

In spite of all of my misgivings about buying a "toy replica" I bought one. Then another. Then another.

I love my PE Eagles. I am eternally grateful for them. And for the 23" signature edition (I haven't had the patience to struggle through a Replica Unlimited build).

So, if he takes a little longer on his gift set, oh well.... I can wait. I waited nearly 30 years for the PE 12" Eagle..... I can wait another couple months for the gift set.

Quit complaining about minor delays. At least someone is actually delivering products of this quality.

Ditto!

In the 70's we had "toys".
Now we have "replicas" with the only concession being to the manufacturing process.

These delays are really not of importance to me. Like Barry said: we now have "replicas" of our favourite SF space craft which we did not have in the seventies when the series aired for the first time. And I am very happy that they are being produced. Just think about the Captain Scarlet vehicles which were (obviously had to be) cancelled... I say: better late than never.

Y'know, that's true. I woulda freaked out if these had been made avail in the 70s. The only thing is, my birthday is coming up in November, and I've had my list made for months!! This throws off my entire plan! Guess we'll move 'Eagle Gift Set' from November birthday list to Christmas list.......
