Default Super Swift Tribute Ship

Back in the 1980's, I bought a Star Cruiser kit, and quickly concluded it would be a great kit to kit bash. So I set out to do my version of the Swift. I have wanted to do a tribute build of the Super Swift, but could not find or afford a Star Cruiser to work from.
Then I arranged a trade with a long time freind for some items which did not sell on Ebay, and got my hands on a mostly complete kit, plus some awesome parts from other kits. And so away I went, on a hair pulling journey of kit-bashing my version of a Super Swift from the body of the Star Cruiser and parts I had on hand.
One difference between mine and the one on the show, is that on my version a Pilot Ship actually fits atop the finished model, and is held there by magnets. i hope you will enjoy it! Included are a couple of comparison shots of the old build from the 1980s and the new one just completed yesterday.

Very nice indeed, I too have one of these kits unbuilt. I did have one back in the seventies, but it got kit bashed
I love the design, I started work on a scratchbuilt (mentioned but never seen in the episode) 'big transporter' from the 'Bringers of Wonder' ages ago. I must finish it someday!

This is excellent. Very "Boweresque" if I do say so and I am glad you showed it to us. I'm still debating whether to do my Starcruiser One kit up as more or less OOB with some minor detail tweaks and paint or if I'll go to town with it as a kitbash of something else. Or I'll just get two and do one a certain way and use the second one for kitbash fodder.

Great idea Tim
I have one, I built many years ago, squashed in a box in the loft, it would be nice to dig it out and do something with it again after all these years.

Thanks! I'll say they are, but the hatches came from the smaller Imai Eagle. I was all out of hatches from the Airfix/AMT kit.

Your 'tribute' could just as easily have been a canon 'variant', Tim - excellent!

Thanks Funpod! I do agree, and a lot of time look at the stuff i build as stuff that could have been on the show in following years. Too bad Mr. Bower didn't get to keep working on 1999 ships for a few more years!
