I'm afraid you may find this assumption incorrect, the sole reason for have left hand drive was to sell the show in the states, this has been stated by Ed bishop and Gerry as being the case, and it worked many Americans believed it to be a US made show.

I imagine the doors could be very light if they're fibreglass and with plastic windows without any locks, mechanisms, etc. and therefore easy to open.......but I thought it was said that they were difficult to open.

Yeah, plastic windows and fibreglass hollow doors are only gonna be around five or six pounds, no prob to a prop guy in a red jumper to prise his fingers under and give it the old heave ho...

A broom handle and a length of line would do the trick. At the appropriate moment, go fishing from one side of the camera to avoid being in shot or casting a reflection....

Does look like a crew member reflection low on the car door around 6.24.

In the clip above at 6:24 I think you can indeed see the reflection of a crew members head and shoulders on the door as the car moves off.

I think you should check with Sean but aren't the doors are made in aluminium, like the rest of the bodyshell.

I hope this car gets a modern chassis, proper suspension and steering geometry and can actually go around corners like a real car. It would be great to see a you tube vid of it flying along ( without scaring the hell out of the stunt driver like the original which must have been a death trap )

![]() Have been looking at the shot of the car during filming, and the bad door fit matches that of the mould taken from the alloy shell. Wasnt this misalignment in the shell originally put down to the deterioration of the inner shell frame and floors Or was it always there? |

Hey, how about using the fake air intake on the roof as a true air intake for the cabin, putting a hole in the roof, under the air intake?
PS: I'm not here to give advice to anyone is just a question as one while we chat in the pub... |

Oh, daft question, but are you going for left or right hand drive?
For ease of driving on British roads of course RHD is ideal. |

I think Sean is hip deep in a movie he is directing, he told me about his schedule for the rest of the year, "it's very full" is a big understatement.

We have been busy rebuilding that entire back quater panel. On the car as of now it is definitely collapsing, we had to build a second temporary jig, cut the panel in several places and pull it back into position, then rebuild in filler. It won't matter as this car is the master for a new mould and its from the new mould that the shells will be cast. We reckon we will be ready to mould in 2 weeks time all being well but the meetings are stacking up. I will send Bernie new pics over the next couple of days. The cars will be right hand drive just because its easier. I'm producing and directing a movie about the Apollo prog, it definitely is collapsingram, then a war movie, then a comedy and I've just been asked to co-produce something else which I can't talk about right now as I have signed a nondisclosure agreement but trust me its cool. |
