Sorry I missed your call, noisy installation of new equipment in the workshop didn't hear my phone and it went on a bit longer than expected, I'll try to call you back tomorrow.
Thanks for the update. |

Hi Guys,
Sean has sent me more images, I honestly have no clue how he does all this, there must be three of him at least... N.B. Look carefully at the work benches. Here are the updated photos, before and after, we still have to make the piece that sits under the rear section but that back end took a lot to get this far. we still have the window to do but its almost there. ![]() ![]() This shows the side we have had to totally rebuild, beginning with slicing the back quarter into four pieces, then realigning it until it was back into position, then we applied filler in layers until we had it back into level alignment. Its now sand and fill, sand and smooth until we are happy. This much filler is fine as this is the new master that we will take the actual mould from. This car will be wet sanded within an inch of its life over the next few weeks, sprayed with filler primer between sandings until we get it like glass. ![]() Just some more pics of the car as we fill and sand, fill and sand for all we are worth. as you can see from the first pic the back end has had a lot of work, and needs a lot more but its getting there. The front is almost done and now we are going back over the sides making sure there are no hollows and dents ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Wow that's looking good Sean. I have loads of questions but won't bother you with them now. The Eagle is a whopper, it looks bigger than a 44 to me or is that just an illusion?
Thanks, John. |

This is truly brilliant, I cant wait to see it when it's finished, and if Sean makes bodyshells available put me down for one.
As for a chassis having, had some involvement in the kit car world I would advise against using the Zepher, it is not really a chassis, more a floopan. I would suggest building a spaceframe from box section steel, and maybe incorporate a more modern power unit such as a Ford Zetec, another option would be to use something like a Lotus Backbone chassis from one of the front engined cars such as the Elan 2+Elite, Eclat, Excel. This would be dependent on if the wheelbase was the same or so near the chassis could be modified. might be worth having a word with Spyder Engineering who make replacement chassis for the 2+ and incorporate modern brakes, engine gearbox etc. To be road legal the car needs to pass an SVA test, a sort of super MOT, it might be worth checking if the height of the headlights would comply with current legislation etc. It's a big mountain to climb but if he can do it, wow fantastic. |

Hi Sean,
that looks fantastic! Will you cut of the side windows for moulding, because the frames are still visible? Looking forward for the support construction of the gulling doors. |

Look what popped into my inbox earlier today. Sean is also a huge Eagle Nut, check these babies out, maybe I'll push these into their own thread in the future.
It is mighty impressive to tell me that you have three Eagles and the baby of the collection is a 44" Studio scale model...! Hi Bernie, The eagle you see on the bench under the plastic is a 66 inch version, all made in brass with aluminium engines, here is a photo with another smaller 44 inch version, so you can make the comparison. The other eagle in the workshop, minus beak is my 88 inch version. I do have the beak, pod and side pods Regards Sean ![]() |

This where millionaires go wrong and get drunk, do drugs and waste money. These are the things that are worth spending time and money on.

You don't have to be a millionaire to get drunk and do drugs Nige, it's just easier to get away with it.
Now I'm wondering what the harrier part is for. |

Hi. No i'm going to leave the windows in when we make the new mould, then cut them out once the shell is out of the mould, it just gives the master a bit of strength.
